This stand is the perfect all rounder as it is small enough to use for a small amp but because of it's boom range can also be useful for acoustic guitar or vocals in the sitting position. The stand is very well made and at a good price so a must for home recording.

The stand is both well and strongly made. I highly recommend it. Its exact measurements are:Height of vertical support from floor: 15.75"/40cm, extending vertically to 23"/58cmRadius of base when feet extended 11"/28cmBoom length: 11.5"/29cm, extending to: 24"/61cm (measured from centre of vertical support)The stand folds down to 23"/58cm overall length and 4"/10cm overall widthThe stand I received had a different lock for the main arm, a handle not a lever, which is better in my opinion. Obviously, the stand will be less stable if a heavy mic is used with the boom fully extended -- my Sony ECM-MS907 is fine with it at full extension.Update, April 2016: I bought this stand in Aug 2014 and am disappointed that the extendible vertical arm no longer tightens. The stand has been in use every Saturday since purchase (i.e. one day a week) which is not excessive use in my opinion.
