Q: I would not like to be part of animal torture, Im worried about the goose, so which process do your supplier use to get the feathers?

The goose is plucked in the spring and early summer. They would shedd the down and other feathers anyway. Ask the farmers!

Q: Is this the super lofty down that is always pushing back against you or the more old fashioned down that will hold the shape you scrunch it into?

It is lovely down. I think if you over fill a pillow it will be firm, but if you add just enough it will scrunch to your shape. I think it is all about how much you put in. I used it to add to some pillows that had gotten soft and mushy over the years and I actually over filled and they are a bit firmer than I wanted. However, it is really nice down.

Q: How many bags would fill a queen comforter that needs a fill.

Never made a comforter- so the following recommendation is devoid of experience!. A quick search turned up a comparison that used 60 oz of 750 fill as higher quality to a 70 or even 80oz of 550 fill density down comforter. So as thickness is not stipulated best guess: 8 or 9 bags/64 to 72oz should make it fluffy, warm, resilient & durable. Keep in mind NEVER WASH- dry clean only!! The finely spun polyesters marketed as down alternatives are getting better.... should you desire a washable albeit heavier, less insulating and less durable alternative.
