Q: How do you install and connect them to wall?

Install the hooks on the end of a 3/4" rope by inserting the cut end of the rope into the open end of the barrel (opposite the hook end). There are two set screws on each hook that securely engage the rope from the sides of the barrel. Connecting them to the wall is a matter of engaging the hook end into the wall anchor in the wall of the pool under the water. If you have no wall anchors in your pool, you could install anchors (major project) or else attach the hook to something outside of the pool.

Q: How is the 3/4" rope fastened or secured?

Unscrew the screws, place the end of the rope in the hook and re-screw to secure the rope. The screws will go right through the rope.

Q: do these work on 1/2 rope?

It works, but will not take much strain.
