Q: Does it work in the Gaggia Classic machines?

Probably not. The Gaggia classic was not designed to take an in-tank water filter to my knowledge.

Q: How long does each filter last in a Gaggia machine?

The instructions say to replace every 2 months. But I wait until my Gaggia tells me it's time to replace it, which is more like 3-4 months (but I only make a couple cups of coffee a day).

Q: I have a gaggia magenta prestige. Will this work?

It should work fine. Gaggia did a design change on the water container and there may be a lip on the bottom poking up. I think they did that to steer people away from the Mavea to a higher priced propriety filter. Easy fix is to take a sharp knife and put a slit in the filter screen for the portion the lip protrudes. It will fully seat then.
