this was a good set but I had to return it due to my mistake. I thought it had many colors for a private home use and found out it was for school class distributions. OOPS... sorry I didn't read it carefully.

From the moment I opened the box the color was brilliant and when I took them out of the box they felt heavier and more durable than the others that I have purchased. I have bought a total of four different brands and ended up disappointed in each one. The pigment was not there like it was printed on the boxes. White spaces were all over my pictures and I was so disappointed because of the time I spent using each different ones trying to find a smooth flow of color. I bought a box of 36 colored pencils from Prismacolor hoping maybe they would be different and when I started coloring I was floored! The color is bright and beautiful and filled the picture without leaving white everywhere! I stopped coloring and ordered 150! Finally, beautiful color is available! Even though they are expensive as far as colored pencils go, they are worth every dime to get the pictures I am spending time doing. I don't have a lot of extra time so when I do get to relax and color there will be no frustration or let down anymore. Please listen, I spent more than the total of the 150 on different brands trying to find good pencils. Save time and money and purchase these!

I've ordered two of these sets for my high school art classes and for some reason the red colored pencils specifically are terrible. I just bought them, and all of the reds are already nubs from students sharpening them, lead immediately falling out, then repeating that process numerous times before the pencil is usable. I've been saving the red bits because I feel like the company needs to be alerted to how poorly the reds are made, especially after my second box had the same exact issue. They aren't cheap, especially not for a teacher, but Ive always considered Prismacolor a great/reliable brand so I thought it was worth the cost--I'm very disappointed! The other colors are great, not as creamy/easy to blend as the pricier tin sets but they work well for a classroom setting.
