Q: If there are no turns or rounds, then how do you prevent someone from grabbing the card you just took from them???? And that repeats endlessly???

One may only steal a card from a players OPEN STREAKS (which is a set between 2-4 consecutive numbers) and only the final card which will help them complete a STREAK (which is a set of five). So once someone stole a players card and completed his own streak with it, that streak is moved to the side and can't be touched.
