Military Medal Shadow Box with Display Case for Memorial Flag - Black Felt Selected

I purchased this for my father and my own military metals, insignia, etc. It is a quality made display case and does allow the large flag with no problems. The only thing that I would like to see for the cost of this case is a separate internal panel of lighter weight to allow mounting of the metals onto. As the felt covered backboard is of 3/16" plywood (and a hardwood ply at that) it is not conducive to pinning metals through it. Thus you are resorting to hot glue or other fastening methods. And if you are mounting medals and items that are very old you may not want to chance ruin them by this mounting method. But if not, this is otherwise an excellent, well made display case. One could remove the felt and replace it to achieve this, however, the item is pretty high priced and should accommodate the mounting in a more easily done manner.

I ended up ordering two of these display cases. Nor because they were great, but because of the poor craftmanship. The first one was falling apart when o took it out of the box, the second had three different sizes of stars. Looked very poorly put together.

I purchased this item for a retiring NCO of mine. I am so happy with the product that I will get the act same one for myself as long as the price point stays steady. The wood is great, the brass stars are eye catching. A big, heavy frame, be sure to mount this correctly so it won't fall.

Beautiful worksmanship, sturdy, and well built. Packaging was excellent, and it arrived promptly. Fits memorial (coffin) flags perfectly. Felt backing is glued to a thin wood board - I was able to hot glue some items, and was able to push sturdy pins (like on the back of pin-on rank) through the board. Comes with care instructions, as the front is plexiglass (crystal clear, sturdier and lighter than glass). Can be wall mounted or stand alone.

Love this case, except for the weight. Little heavier than I thought, but well done. I had room for all of the metals on one side and a picture on the other. He deserves all the acknowledgement he can get, since Viet Nam servicemen were not welcomed home like they should have been. Well done!!

This item is beautifully handcrafted and nicely finished. The only problem I had with it was the mounting hardware it came with. They were too flimsy and not big enough too handle the weight of the shadow box so I had to change them. Otherwise a wonderful buy.
