Q: Is this by design to feed the bluetooth signal (pcm) to the embedded dac?

Yes, BT feeds the DAC, but it’s not lossless PCM.

Q: Since it uses cm6642, we should not have any problem for usb connection with linux right? even at 24b/192k?

It works fine. The only problem I have is that it takes about 1 or 2 seconds to reach it's volume setting. It does this on Windows and OS/X also.

Q: Are you able to adjust Bass/Treble levels?

No, it is better to think of this as an input device to your pre-amp or receiver. I bypass my pre-amp bass/treble controls but insert a 12-band equalizer before the power amp to adjust for room and speakers.

Q: I have the classic akg k240 600 ohms. how well would this drive them?

You will need more power for 600 ohm headphones to drive them properly
