Works great, perfect size for family
So far so good...the item worked great on our trip and we never had issues lighting it up and getting a good boil in short order. Also, stove is very well designed, as we did not experience the flame blowing out in light to moderate wind or any difficulties in various elevations. It’s so nice to have a warm cup of coffee, soup, or hot chocolate to drink. It slows everything down and helps busybody campers stop and enjoy the scenery. We also used it to boil water to heat up some freeze dried Mountain House foods and that was always a welcome treat. Still scared to be near it when it’s working, thinking it might blow up or something but I’m sure those are just unfounded worries. This works great and the larger size of the Sumo is just perfect for a family or a group of travelers.

Best backpacking stove EVER!
I love using this! 5 minutes and I had a rolling boil. 7 of us backpacked and ate Mountain House meals for dinner and breakfast. We were all happy at how quick we had our hot water! One thing to note: I've noticed that some people complain that the igniter doesn't work, we thought this, too, but found out that in direct sunlight it is really hard to see when it's working and when it's not. If you turn on the fuel, push the igniter, and then turn the fuel UP you can tell by cautiously approaching the would be flame area. The fuel, when lit in sunny conditions, appears almost invisible! It was easier to see at dusk. We bought two of the 100g canisters of fuel and they fit inside with the stove parts, but for two meals we really only needed one 100g fuel canister for 7 people having Mountain House meals and hot chocolate for dinner and breakfast! This is a fabulous invention! We filled our JetBoil 10 1/2 times and the results were that the can weighed 7.1 oz when we left and 3.6 oz when we came home. Just buy it, you won't be sorry!

Love my Sumo, boils water faster than my house stove!!
I dare say this contraption was a life saver and boils water much faster than my home stove top burner lol. Anyway humor aside, we had a blast with this boiler! We boiled broccoli, potatoes, and asparagus in it, We had bought the Pot Support Extension but didn't use it lol. Instead we just boiled things inside of the jetboil pot it came in, sure it was a bit harder to clean afterwards than say a much wider pot but in the end it worked out very well!! We were only up 5500 feet, so higher elevation, it may not be that great, but in terms of boiling times, 16 oz of cool water took around 3 minutes and 20 seconds to come to an explosive boil(how else could one describe that?), though I didn't time it when we filled it up to 44 oz of water and lots of veggies, but it did go by quite fast as I recall my sister exclaiming "WOW IT'S DRIPPING OVER ALREADY?!?", so happy this little guy can be turned down to a simmer as well ^_^ I bought the Coleman isobutane/propane 220g tanks and it fits perfectly in the Sumo Jetboiler pot(it's a pot right?) and fits on the orange stand too, but may require a bit of physical persuasion to get it to fit in all 3 holes, as to why i didn't get the Jetboil branded 230g tanks, Simple answer, Price... Coleman 220g $4.50 - $6.00 depending on the store Jetboil 230g .. ranges from $7.49 - $9.99 depending on the stores.

Great to have along
Got this for car camping and backpacking. Love the ease of use and big size for our family of 4. Just got back from a rafting trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon where we had a couple of very cold and wet hypothermia-inducing days. A couple of times we had to pull off the river to warm people up before moving on. Each time I broke this bad boy out and in no time at all was able to boil up water for oatmeal, ramen noodles and tea to warm up cold bodies so we could get back in the boats and head on to our campsite. So glad I had this along!

Cooks fast for large 1.8L pot for 3-5 people
Jetboil Sumo, with the 1.8L pot is perfect for 3-5 people. This stove replace my 1980’s era Peak 1 liquid fuel stove. Was a little apprehensive to move to canisters for fuel.. Took both stoves on Scout backpacking trip and did a side by side comparison. The peak 1 is a 10k BTU stove and the jetboil Sumo is 6-7k BTU stove. The jetboil boiled 2 full pots of water before the Peak 1 could get the first 2L pot to a bubling boil. The Peak 1 was red hot and running full open throttle but could not keep up with the effeciant design of the Jetboil. One I showed the scouts how to use this stove, they used the jetboil Sumo to boil water for cooking, clean up and breakfast the next morning. The handle stayed cool, and the pour spout opening on the lid worked great. The piezo starter worked every time (hint- turn on fuel to very low flow- just when you hear a short hissing sound, then use piezo starter). Other adults brought he Jetboil Flash stove and for a size comparison, the Flash pot fit inside of the Sumo pot with about 1/2inch to tall to put lid on. The larger fuel canister fits perfectly in the Sumo 1.8L pot- it will not fit in the Flash pot (only smaller fuel canister will fit into the Flash pot) I was worried that the jetboil cooking system is too tall and unstable for scouts to use. I was wrong. The locking pot to stove really made a difference, but it can be a little tricky to align the pot to stove, especially with a full pot of water. I actually bought the Jetboil matching 1.5L flux ring pot, but did not use and actually returned it since the 1.8L worked for our group of 2 patrols of 7. So we used 1 jetboil Sumo stove for 14 kids. Took about

Compact, Powerful, Lightweight
What a great addition to our hiking / snowshoeing / backcountry skiing day packs! Even if we're not overnighting, it's nice to use for a midday break. In the winter, a 2pm mocha can make the last miles go easier. Instead of setting up the camp stove in the morning, we use this for pour over coffee and oatmeal before heading out from the campsite. Very impressed with the quality and speed, too. We live and play in the Rockies so finding flat spot isn't always easy. This unit is stable, but not foolproof. Best part, It allows us to add a little glam to day outings.

Just awesome and a fast boil. Use it camping, hunting, fishing and even on long road trips on the Harley for coffee or soup. If you’ve never owned one before, get one because they make life super easy. It is nice to buy an extra mug for it if you can afford one, as you have one to boil water and one to cook in

Schnell geliefert, gut verpackt. Während des Campingurlaubes jeden Tag mehrmals genutzt. Man merkt den Unterschied zum normalen Gaskocher, Behälter sehr leicht zu reinigen. Bin begeistert!
