Q: I have a pick-up truck and was curious if others have installed the X4S rear camera on a pick-up and what was the ideal placement?

I installed the X4S in my 2020 Totota Tundra TRD Pro. The front camera mounted to the windshield directly under the rear view mirror. I used a Dongar power tap off of the auto-dimming rear view mirror to power the unit. I ran the wire for the rear camera along the sides under the headliner and made a small aluminum tab to adhere it to because my Tundra has a lowerable rear window. It was an easy install and it works petfectly.

Q: It says "Capacitor". What is that and what does it do?

A capacitor is a device that stores electrical energy in an electric field. Compared with the battery, the Super Capacitor can withstand extreme temperatures from -4°F to 158°F, which prevents the risk of overheating and exploding and extends the reliability and life span of the camera. The capacitor dash cam will turn off once disconnecting the power source.

Q: What is the reason for not using a SanDisk card?

I doubt there is a good reason. I used a high speed SanDisk in my previous 2K dashcam for years in the Florida heat and never had any issues. My guess is it's just a plug so they can sell more memory cards. I plan on using the same SanDisk memory card currently in use in this dashcam as well. I also find it comical how they don't 'support' anything over 256gb, while my old dashcam supports a 400gb card.

Q: What is the difference between the N4 and N4s?

Many thanks for your asking. The n4 dash cam is 3 channel front, cabin and rear but the X4S dash cam is dual dash cam front and rear. And their sensors are different. The X4S supports wifi function but the n4 doesn't support that.
