Q: What material is product made from? Pine and cedar are two different species. Pine is not nearly as weather resistant as cedar.

Not positive about the exact material...what I can say is it has been outside through all seasons now and the roof "looks" more worn than anything. It's very sturdy and lasting; plus draws in a lot of different birds.

Q: Why does the description say cedar wood when the product information says american red pine?

Basically Cedar and red American pine are the same type of wood if you need any more information you can Google it for more description

this feeder is very easy to clean

Q: Does this feeder deter sparrows?

We have mostly larger birds eating from this feeder, but the sparrows come to feed at it as well as some of our smaller birds. We use it with the suet that has pepper in it to deter the other critters. It is well made and has held up very well and been well-loved by our backyard birds.
