Is this different from micelle technology like the rev genetics brand?  Which one has better absorption?

There is no information on the content (percentage) of curcumin and on the carrier inside the micelle from the brand in question. Therefore, we cannot conclude on its technology and absorption.

However, we do know that our nano curcumin is micelle AND equipped with Site-Specific Delivery (targeted) Technology. In simplest terms, SCurma Fizzy's nano curcumin is able to concentrate on inflamed cells, acting on specific cells/regions that need it. In clinical studies, the nano micelles of SCurma Fizzy target inflamed cells 70x more than other curcumin or nano curcumin can.

On absorption and bioavailability, bioavailability depends largely on dosage forms: liquid brings the highest absorption rate into the body. In Liquid softgels, nano curcumin may reach saturation concentration within 90 minutes after dissolving in solvent such as water or alcohol; then the particles will quickly accumulate together to form large rod-shaped crystals and begin to precipitate. In effervescent-turned-liquid form (SCurma Fizzy), nano curcumin is evenly dispersed in water and if used within 5-10 minutes after a tablet is completely dissolved, the nanoparticles will be stable in size, shape, not accumulate and not precipitate, preserving the best form of curcumin to be absorbed into the body.

SCurma Fizzy is 7500x more absorption than normal curcumin.

Does this product also include Piperine, an ingredient which enhances absorption rate into the body?

Piperine is a compound extracted from black pepper. It is used in some dietary supplements to enhance the absorption of ingredients that are otherwise not well absorbed, such as curcumin. It is important to note that only 2 to 10% of black pepper is piperine, and absorption claims for piperine are not true for black pepper.

We chose not to use piperine in our products as we feel there are significant disadvantages to piperine.

For example, piperine may be contraindicated for use with many prescription medications, as it changes how many drugs are metabolized in the liver and intestines. This can affect a wide spectrum of prescription medications, including digoxin (heart rhythm drug), verapamil (high blood pressure and angina), cyclosporine (anti-rejection drug for transplant patients), phenytoin (anti-seizure), rifampin (anti-tuberculosis) and more.

Additionally, in animal studies piperine has demonstrated toxicity at high dosages, and has been shown to increase the absorption of dietary toxins such as aflatoxin. Most recently, an animal study found that high doses of piperine negated the beneficial effects of curcumin for support of blood sugar metabolism.

Instead of piperine, SCurma Fizzy employs Nano Micelles Technology, transforming Curcumin into nano-sized particles to drastically enhance the absorption uptake into the body by 7500X.

Pipeperine may also irritate your stomach as well. SCurma Fizzy is very well digested and lenient on the digestive system.

SCurma Fizzy not only uses micelles to enhance absorption but also employs a Site-Specific Delivery system to instruct curcumin to target inflammatory sites. The delivery system is folate targeting which is not uncommon in various drug delivery system to treat different cancer malignancies. (Side note: The system involves the attachment of folate (folic acid) to a molecule to form a folate conjugate. Based on the natural high affinity of folate for the folate receptor (FR) protein, which is commonly expressed on the surface of inflammatory sites (especially cancer cells), folate-drug conjugates also bind tightly to the FR and trigger cellular uptake via endocytosis.). In the case of SCurma Fizzy, in simple terms, folate is attached to nano curcumin micelles; the conjugated particles will then find inflammatory cells which have tons of folate receptors to target. Medical literature on folate targeting system for cancer treatment and inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis etc is abundant and well-researched.

Our product does not contain meat, poultry, game, fish, shellfish or crustacea (such as crab or lobster), or animal by-products (such as gelatin). SCurma Fizzy is Vegetarian.

Please note that SCurma Fizzy contains lactose and thus is not Vegan.
