Excellent quality
This base layer is great. Adds noticeable warmth, very soft, and fitted but not tight. I'm 6'5, 230lbs and the L 250 fits me great. The sleeves are long enough to reach my wrists and the top has enough length to tuck. I ended up not meeting the bottom layer for my trip but did try it on and it also fits well. The included socks are also nicely made and feel great.

Merino Wool at a good price
This merino wool has absolutely no itch like some inferior brands. Wool is great in that it keeps a person warm when damp and controls odor (unlike synthetics that take on odor much faster). The down side of wool is that it can itch or be irritating. Unfortunately, most of the nonirritating brands of wool are very very expensive. So far, so good with Merino Tech. Another thing is that wool long underwear lasts years and become a good investment when the right choice is made.

Warm and Fit perfectly size medium on a 5’9” 168lbs male.
Warm and Fit perfectly size medium on a 5’9” 168lbs male, Michigan resident. This was a much needed replacement to my thinner box store set. I got the mid weight and have worn them in the single digits with jeans and a mid-weight coat, I stayed cozy. It is soft with just a slight bit of wool scratchiness (this will go away with wear and a couple washing).I got the gift set of 4 pieces: top, bottom, socks, and beanie. The socks that it came with are very comfortable and kept my feet warm, which, is saying something seeing as my toes stay cold most of the time. So cold my toes turn white circulation issue. They are not 100% wool they have spandex in them for the stretch. The beanie is very thin and light weight, but does the job nicely. I would highly recommend this set to anyone.I am in mid-Michigan we do get into the negatives in the winter (especially when there is a wind chill). If your coldest days don’t go below 30 I would say the light weight with good clothes are good for you. But anything colder I would recommend the mid. If you are always negative for sure the heavy weight. I am also basing this on moving/being active and then standing for short periods of time, not just standing in the cold windy open.I hope this was helpful.

Working for me
XLG 320 heavyweight blk. Set 6'1" 190 lbs. Winter in the Pacific Northwest has been bitter cold this year, and I wear an assortment of long johns made from various materials, but none made from 100% wool. The fit is loose (not a bunch up under your outer clothing), and the quality of the material and craftsmanship is better than most. The wool material is soft and not itchy; I have no complaints. The 320 heavyweights are thick and have noticeable weight; again, I have no complaints. The versatility of this set is unmatched, allowing me to adapt to any winter activity.I have worn the set for multiple days and nights with temps in the negative degrees, working on equipment, loading firewood, shoveling snow, and operating ATV for extended lengths of time, and have stayed warm through coffee breaks and meals. Typically, when wearing my other sets, I will have to change tops if I take an extended break outside in a nonheated building because I'm soaking wet, and the cold starts setting in. I didn't have a problem with this set.I recommend these over my silk sets since they are better at wicking away moisture and keeping me warm when damp. Hand washing is a pain, so I'll see how things work on the "hand wash" setting on the washing machine. By the way, black shows every dog's hair, lint fuzz, etc., that you can imagine. I give it a 4-star rating for now. I will update you on the durability and longer-term wear in a few months.

Warm, soft and not itchy
We ended up with pairs from this brand for the whole family. We get itchy from other merino wool brands, but these are great and so warm! We have different thicknesses for different weather!
