Per the FDA definition it “means the essential oil, oleoresin, essence or extractive, protein hydrolysate, distillate, or any product of roasting, heating or enzymolysis, which contains the flavoring constituents derived from a spice, fruit or fruit juice, vegetable or vegetable juice, edible yeast, herb, bark, bud, root, leaf or similar plant material, meat, seafood, poultry, eggs, dairy products, or fermentation products thereof, whose significant function in food is flavoring rather than nutritional.” The only dangers associated with the ingredient “natural flavors” would fall into the category of consumers with food allergies, especially severe allergies, as the sources of these flavors are not required to be specified on he panel. Manufacturers probably don’t even know everything that makes up the “natural flavors” ingredient they are using. You’d need an expert chemist and a lab to probably isolate everything.

Q: Does this mix clear with water? Or is it colored?

Not colored like blueberry, but not clear like water either. More of a very light lemonade color.
