Worked with Bimmercode app without problems
Works well with Bimmercode app. I didn't try the software that comes with the device or their app.In a few minutes I managed to do the following on an F20 M135i (pre LCI) with standard nav system and the basic hifi (i.e. not HK): - Turned off Active Sound - Default auto stop-start to off - Changed air conditioning to remember air flow setting (e.g. to face or feet+face instead of just feet) - Turned on door handle lights on reverse (you can see a bit more in the dark when reversing)There are a lot more settings you can change. Before I turned off Active Sound, I tried these settings from the BabyBMW forum with funny results:Model Range: F22 with N55 (make sure you chose this option, and not just "F22")Engine: N55Power Class: TL 0x05Sounded significantly louder inside in Sport and Sport+... it seems you have to be careful with the AS settings though, make sure they are a valid combination of model and engine. I didn't try any other values though so I don't know for sure. Also I'm just going by the car I was using... M135i pre LCI 5 door. The only negative I have is that you connect to this product through it's insecure WiFi connection (no password). Someone else with Bimmercode (or some other app) could connect if they saw the "VGATE" network and then shreck your car. Pretty unlikely but maybe best to unplug the device after coding...

Be very careful !!
Bought to use on a 2016 F33 with the bimmercode app - went well although there was a bit of a scary moment when writing code the unit disconnected mid-write and I lost my idrive functionality.I immediately went and ordered an Enet cable thinking I had some painful coding ahead, however the idrive restored itself the morning after (changes had carried through as well). I've seen other people mention similar experiences, so if this happens to you, just bear with it and try to not panic!

To clear engine fault codes you have to upgrade to the pro App at £18 year
The item states that it can clear enging faults but does not tell you that you have to pay an additional £18 year for the pro version of the supplied app to do so. very misleading and would have not purchased if known.Apart from that it does work. It only works on wifi and not Bluetooth which is also disappointing.

Every car should have one.
Brilliant - used it in conjunction with BimmerCode to alter some of the parameters on my BMW that would normally require a visit to the dealer and of course a substantial cost. This little chappie plugged straight in and I was able to connect to its "wifi" from my iPhone and using the app interrogate and alter the codes I needed. For the price it's a no-brainer, and you get some free software ( although of course it has limitations).

Easy to use and compact
It's smaller than I expected it to be making it a bit fiddly to remove once it's plugged in. That said, it's got features that mean you could just leave it plugged into your car's OBD socket. It'll power down on it's own.I set it up with BimmerCode and BimmerLink apps in the Google marketplace. I've got a Cooper SD. Was super simple to get it set up and worked first time.
