Rival Waffle Maker

This product is great..This is the first time I've ever made waffles and I made blueberry and they turned out awesome..!!

Bad quality, sticks all the time, ruins your breakfast and your kids first meal. By far, the worst wafflemaker out there. The above pic is from the first use of it. Going in the trash as is. Will never buy another product from them.

Half brown and half white. And that's after cooking for about 6 minutes instead of two.They didn't stick, though, and it was easy to clean up.But it's going back.

I really don't understand the negative ratings on this - maybe I just lucked out and got a good one?I purchased this last year during Black Friday. I paid $3.50 for it and it's the best $3.50 I've ever spent, lol!I think the performance might be impacted by the type of waffle batter you use. I usually use a recipe which requires separating eggs and beating the whites and folding in. Whenever I use that recipe I have perfect waffles. I did once use a different recipe and had floppy waffles, but I don't think that's the fault of the waffle maker.I've found that the "ready" light does come on too quickly (docked it a star), so I just use my oven timer set for 3 minutes.You definitely have to close it between waffle sets and let it reheat if you want them to come out browned.1/4 C of batter in each side has made me perfect waffles for 9 months now! The only downside is that it only makes 2 waffles and it takes 3 minutes to cook with a good 1 minute re-warm in between. When you're making breakfast for a large family you're at the counter a while. Otherwise, I really love this little gadget.

It had such a dark almost burnt line through the middle. The grandchildren wouldn't eat them. Used the rest of the batter for pancakes. If you can't make a cheap waffle iron why make it. Never buy another rival product. You have ruined your reputation for me and my 3 grown children. Eventually things catch up to you.

I dread using this. No matter how thin or thick you make the batter, regardless of ingredients, you almost always have a mess to clean up. The batter leaks all over. It is not sealed. I received this as a gift I had asked for, however I wanted the kind you see at the hotels. (the round ones that you flip upside down). It is pretty hard to clean due to the plug in the back, you can not disconnect it, and the batter leaks on it.

I found that making the batter slightly thicker and cooking for a few minutes longer gives me the best consistency. If the waffles are under done they can be crisped up in a toaster.

Browns only on the bottom. The top of the waffles are flat and undercooked no matter how long I let the waffle cook. Unit does not let the steam escape and the steam accumulates in the handle.
