this is intended for use on a smartphone.

Q: Is there an App that needs to be downloaded for Bluetooth remote to work ?

It has a remote control in the box but it doesn't work very well. Lots of missed shots no matter how hard you press the button. Dissapointing.

Q: Will this work with the Samsung Galaxy A12?

If this is a smartphone then yes.
