For Those with Linux and AMD cards. It works !!!
Well I took a chance.Finding a display adapter/cable that could display 120 hz - freesync - HDR on Linux is not easy. VRR included. My previous cable which was DP to HDMI was causing issues and wasn't working properly. My TV has 144hz and is a great display but no Display Port and HDMI standards have ruled out HDMI 2.1 coming to Linux. My TV is basically a 55 inch monitor and with this adapter - it brings everything that is blocked to those of us with perhaps a 7900 xtx AMD card (which I have) to life. I now have a stable display at 120hz and the TV reports that Freesync and HDR are working. I have confirmed they are working and the display looks superb.HDR now fully functions and it's awesome. I have the TCL C6K and it now rivals OLED in contrast and colour reproduction. Previously my display was 120hz with the older cable but HDR was washed out and not functioning properly. VRR was causing blank screens in games and it was unusable.VRR is now working perfectly. This is a must for Linux users. Spread the word.

Junk
Bad quality product, I'd call it misleading even. This is how black text on a white background looks with it... Like a rainbow. Not only 4:4:4 is not available with this, even RGB IS BROKEN! The cable can't handle the bandwidth and reverts to 422 YCbCr which results in the image seen.Absolutely horrible product. Buy a cable instead of an adapter. I did the same and now both RGB and 444 works properly on my TV.

Works great.. at 120hz
I have been using the item for 3 days now and works great at 120hz, but make sure you flash the latest firmware first to 7.02.123the adaptor will get warm which is perfectly normal but won’t be hot to touch, I guess this is because it processing DP to HDMI signals.I have tried CB 102103 and the Ugreen 8K cable DP to HDMI and they both work but they will heat up very quickly on the HDMI end and the screen will start to flick and lose signal. It got so I hot I thought the cable might melt, so I sent them backI hope this helps everyone.

4K 120hz
I bought this for the purpose of being able to use 4K 120hz on my LG C9 with a GTX 1070 to play some Older Games in crisp 4K and it worked straight out of the box for me. All I did afterwards was enable 10 bit colour in the Nvidia Control Panel, as well as enabling HDR when I need it for certain games ( HDR works great with the adapter at 4K 120hz ) .The only issues I've had with the adapter is the screen can sometimes cut out when exiting a game ( Hasn't happened often ) or when using Custom Resolution Utility to setup 1440p which requires a restart to get the image back, GSync also isn't supported with the adapter either. But other than that, couldn't be happier with the result.

Works to convert from 8k 60fps -> out to 1080p HDMI monitor in <-
Great product, I bought a 3 monitor / 3 computer KVM... I had no idea about Display port adapters being one way only and that not all adapters would work on my kvm.. they worked on my old KVM, but not the new one ..... after much searching I found in the reviews for this, that peoplke had fixed similar problems to mine .. so I bought this ... it worked perfectly ! I would highly reccomend this to convert 8k 60Fps to a 1080p HDMI monitor ... great result !

HDMI2.1 works on Linux on AMD GPU.
IT WORKS!!!4K120Hz VRR/FreeSync HDR 4:4:4 RGBworks on Linux and Windows on my Radeon 7900XTX.Tested on Samsung TV Q90A and Hisense TV U7KQ.Just a small warning that you must use Firmware 7.02.120 specifically and non other. If you have any problems you can try to disconnect and reconnect. There is some luck involved it seems but I've got very lucky with both TVs on Linux and Windows. I had some problems at first but it worked out at the end. Removing and power draining can help. Added screenshots for confirmation.

Better products out there.
Appears well made but disappointing colour depth (4k 120hz YCbCr 420) and no G-sync for this price is a no go for me.
