We tried that it can hold longer up to few days for some of the dry food items. You can try for any specific food to see how long time it can hold. I'm not sure I heard that they came from somewhere in Asia somewhere in the Asia corridor but don't " Quote me on that I'm not 100% positive but they are unique bowls the only issue I had with them is that sometimes they stick together and you need a little extra time to pull them apart otherwise they're good bowls.
