Raised the backed of my gen 2 Tacoma by 2 1/2". Stock gen 3 suspension all around with a 2" levelling kit in the front. It’s perfect to keep some lean, so it’s levelled with some weight in the bed or when pulling a trailer. To have a perfectly levelled stance when the truck is empty, I would suggest to match this set with a 3" leveling kit in the front, but it can raise other issues. Plan for some shims to adjust the angle of the differential. If you don’t need the added strength, 2" raising blocks might be better to avoid shims-if you buy tapered block- and keep the slightly smoother stock ride. Adding a leaf is obviously not as effective as a new top notch HD leaf packs, but for a fraction of the price, it’s very good.

Toyota SR (soft ride) suspension should not be used on work trucks. Don't get me wrong, I love me my Toyota trucks. I am the original owner of my 1989 SR5 V6, now with 315K miles on it. And now my backup 2008 SR5 2.4l with 170K miles. Both trucks had "saggy butt disease" until I added "overload" springs to the rear. I bought these Torco springs because of the price and reviews. Some people were complaining that it was difficult to compress the springs enough to get the U-bolts started. Here is a helpful hint for everyone: "ANTISEIZE" (available at most auto part stores) and large C-clamps. The springs come with a very long "grade 8" (very strong) "spring alignment bolt", spread a small amount of Antiseize on the bolt threads and start the nut until it touches the bottom of the spring pack. Now, apply some Antiseize on the clamp screws and place them halfway between the alignment bolt and the end of the overload spring. Tighten the clamps until they start to compress the springs. Making sure all the springs are aligned, give each clamp 3-4 turns. Now, tighten the alignment bolt nut until it touches the springs again. Continue this process until the clamps will not compress the springs anymore. Using a box end wrench on the alignment nut, finish tightening the nut the rest of the way. I didn't need to use any power tools to complete this process, everything went very smoothly and was done in no time at all. I do recommend only doing one side at a time all the way through the process, this will help keep the axel in alignment with the frame. Don't forget to chalk the front wheels before you start. I used two tall jack stands at the back end of the frame, so the frame would not arch in the middle of the truck. You will need a good tall floor jack to manipulate the rear axle as you work, and you will also need to remove the rear shocks to get the axel to drop down enough. In the end, my truck now sits level, up a full 2" even with all the weight I have in the bed. I took the truck for a test ride and am so happy with the results. On a scale of 1-5 for difficulty 2-3, plan on 3-4 hours (taking your time), value for money, a 100% thumbs up for the cost.

I installed these on a 1998 Tacoma. The truck previously had some no-name 3" add-a-leaf springs installed, but they sagged over time to about 2" and then one of them cracked. These new add-a-leafs went on easily enough, came with extra bolts and some stickers, and brought my truck to about the same height. I can't speak to how they would lift a stock truck, since I was just replacing broken leafs. For the price these are very good, and I'm pleased with them. They seem to ride well and I have loaded my truck with gear and have been holding up now for 3 months.

Nice quality, and great feeling ride. They don't make the ride harsh when empty.
