I love this little well built speaker!
After several years years listening to my JBL Charge 2+, and bemoaning its lack of upper mids and anything resembling a treble range I decided I needed to do better. Much Better. I was to the point where I was no longer enjoying listening to the Charge 2+. After months of going through the myriad of reviews, and listening to others at Bestbuy and other retailers, I decided to purchase, unheard, a bluetooth speaker by Creative Labs, the iRoar Go. It's previous bluetooth speakers had gotten very good reviews and held up quite well on YouTube videos when compared to others.I still wanted good sound in a small package, portability, lasting battery, and balance. Well, I seem to have found that in the Creative Labs iRoar Go. I am mighty impressed with this solid little performer. In just 2 days, I have retired the Charge 2+ forever. It took 5 hours or so before ithe iRoar Go started to sounds it's best. So yeah you will want it to burn in some before you really test it out, but the waut will be worth it. I can hear all of the music that I sorely missed listening the the JBL. While the Charge2 + excelled in lower end grunt, it was overly so at the expense of everything else. It sounded like a wet washcloth was over it. The iRorar Go, not so much. Sound was open, clear and detailed, AND had bass. There was balance there, except perhaps when listening to certain voice settings that emphasized the upper range frequency's. There are several options for tailoring the sound and it didn't take long to find what I liked. Again, for the $150 I spent, I am extremely satisfied already.Another feature I found useful and necessary is the app that allows me to alter the sound to my liking. It is very helpful in the initial stages of locating the sound that appeals to you. All of the main voice settings, along with EQ options are done from the app. My only regret is that Creative did not give me the ability to change speaker settings when using my laptop via Bluetooth. For some inexplicable reason the app will only work when the iRoar Go is connected via USB, not bluetooth. That was a mistake that I hope gets corrected. I also would have liked to see more EQ options directly on the unit itself to allow toggling between at least to voice options in case I didn't want the "superwide" voice to be my only choice.I love this little perfectly sized speaker for its sound above all, but there are many many other features that you will enjoy should you need them, so yeah, put this one on your list of under $200 Bluetooth speakers to audition. Especially if you own a JBL Charge of any generation. It just blows it away. At $150 you can't go wrong. For me at least , it rocks!

Great sound for such a compact speaker!
The most important: sounds great! Amazing to find out this nice, rich sound coming from such a compact device. Easy to operate and carry around. Listening to a moderate volume will give you more than 10 hours (higher volume will of course provide less autonomy). Hint: the lateral square speakers could be damaged if you put it together with several items on the same handbag/backpack... if you place it in its box before carrying it around it will be properly protected.Absoulte good value for your money.

Great sound. Versatile. Bluetooth. USB cable for laptop. Built-in Mic. Use as PA system. Insert SD card to record. Use your own Mic. Compact, attractive, and retro looking. For remote control: download the App. Use it as a Speaker for phone calls. Portable. The size - Width similar to 500 ml Pepsi bottle or iPhone 16 Max.

They removed aptx! (12/12/21 update)
I got the Creative iroar go because I am looking for the best sound quality I can find in a blue tooth speaker. I have tried half a dozen or so and have not found one I really liked yet. I am more interested in sound quality than phone functions, volume, flashing lights. In brief, this was recommended on an audiophile site. I know creative from way back. They did sound on the Amiga, of which I had several. I know they know sound. I ordered this speaker and the JBL chargeI am impressed by the connection options, both in and out. I did go looking for specs and found none, but then a rep already said they do not publish them. So, I set it up and listened, first with my FIIO and then using an SD card. I am disappointed that aptx was removed..though it is puzzling. On their site it is listed as a protocol, and then there is a line item for aptx and it says no. Aptx is also grayed out in one of he charts. (There is something which would have distinguished this feature. I know it does not work with Apple products, by why downgrade the experience for everyone else? (and it does). It dropped signal frequently, even when my FIIO was an inch away. Playing from SD it had some weird jitters. While the sound was fairly clean there was a low level hiss in the background. Vocals were handled nicely, but the low end sounds compressed and then boosted with an equalizer (which does not make up for a shallower range). I have listened for a few hours on a couple of days to make sure I got burn in and, it is better in the high ranges, more detailed, but there is still a background hiss, even playing from an internal micro sd card.and then, on day 2 or 3, it locked up. I could not change mode, volume, move forward... or turn it off, which is a bit of a problem. I suspect that I could do a reset, but, I have only had it a few days and can not say I am thrilled about this, or sufficiently impressed by the sound to work around it. I think the JBL is a little better sonicly, but will sure miss all of those options. This is a great piece of equiment for the current price, but it is old, and it shows.Hopefully on the next iteration they will include aptx.-----------------------Updated to note that they did, in fgact, put aptx back in on the roar 2. ,n fact *ALL* the other versions (Roar, travel Roar, Roar 2) have it. I guess the "i" should have tipped me off. This iteration of the Roar speaker is downgraded for Apple users. Creative has aptx in just about all of their other equipment.
