LG Nexus 5 Screen Protector, Skinomi Tech Glass Screen Protector for LG Nexus 5 Clear HD and 9H Hardness Ballistic Tempered Glass Shield

Why I bought this:I've installed around a dozen of Skinomi's film protectors on various devices, and except for the user or case caused issues, those protectors have been perfect since install and are completely worth the money and effort. So of course I wanted to try the new one since my experences before with their screen protector products has been great.First off, I am not a fan of combined listings for different types of products. I can understand why Skinomi would want to have the new product ride on an already well review listings, but these new glass protectors are a new and completely different product with no relation to any of the existing reviews for the film-based protectors. I've managed an Amazon seller company before and I'm pretty sure this practice is mostly likely against the mostly unenforced intent of the listing rules. I would have found and bought it anyway if they had it as a separate, related listing.Install:I would rate the install easier than the wet film install, but there is a major issue with the install kit (see below). It would have been nice if the protective backer on the glass was static dissipative as removing it from the glass charged surfaces and was starting to attracted dust (mostly lint from the micro-fiber cloth) on to both faces.The micro-fiber cloth included in these new kits is complete trash. My phone's screen was actually cleaner before as the cloth left an incredibly amount of lint behind. The film kits I come with a unbranded black cloth that had always been fine, but these new tan Skinomi branded ones are detrimental to the install. For being possible the cheapest part of the entire install kit, I have to minus two stars for it alone because if I didn't have a left over install film kit, I would not been able to install it.Fit and post-install:The fit is less than perfect. I aligned it with all the edges but the cutout for the speaker is off center to the upper left corner, but does not actually cover it. Its fine but I had expect better from Skinomi.There were some small bubbles around the front camera and some more between the camera and the speaker. It wasn't that I couldn't get them out, but that they were being remade as the phone flexed very slightly during use. However, after working them out once more and waiting about 20 minutes, they did not reappear again.The protector itself:Its ok. Better than the bare screen but, in my opinion and preference, not as nice as their film protector. I have two main issues with the glass.It attracts dust from all corners of the universe instantly, much like "piano black". It also has a slight finger smudge showing problem. I've found it impossible to keep it clean for longer than a femtosecond. This is really annoying and an issue I had gotten used to never having with the film protectors.The glass is very reflective and can be used as a mirror when the screen is off. Personally, I am not in favor of highly reflective screens, and this may be big enough of an issue on its own that I may end up replacing it with a film one again.Over all:I rate it as better than nothing, better than any non-Skinomi protector I've touched but, for me, not as good as their film protectors.If you're scared by the wet install and like extra shiny screen, these glass protectors are possibly good option for you.

After buying countless stupid plastic film screen protectors, I was fed up. I was tired of having to get every single little bit of dust off the screen, wiping it 20 times, using the sticky pad for tiny particles, and still getting air bubbles. Worse yet, if they are placed wrong, you can't move them, or they become even less effective. And, if I somehow did get the screen protector on right, the colors would appear yellowed, and scrapes were the only thing that they could handle. Drops were a no-go. Talk about "protection".Then, I found out about glass screen protectors.I bought this screen protector for my family member after having one on my own screen for 3 months. In that time, I kept my phone in my pocket with keys, dropped it 3 times, scraped it against a concrete wall, and generally abused it. The screen protector not only held up, only having 1 crack that didn't affect viewing or use; when I removed it (to replace it with another glass protector) the screen was in perfect condition. It had no cracks, scratches, or sticky residue, even after 3 months of heavy use.These screen protectors:1. Come with an alcohol wipe, dust remover, microfiber cloth, and instructions2. Don't change the look or feel of the screen. You can't tell the difference between this and having no screen protector on. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than the feel of a plastic protector.3. Isn't finicky during installation. You can get small pieces of dust on the screen, place the screen protector on, and there's no bubble where the dust is (warning: you still have to get most particles off, this only applies to the tiniest ones that would still screw your plastic protectors up).4. You can move it after you place it! If it doesnt go on right the first time, peel it off, and place it on again. I have had to do it 3 times before, and it still worked perfectly.5. Drops on the screen now have protection. I've seen it in action, and it works so much better than the flimsy plastic ones.If you are scared because this only comes with one protector, don't worry. You will only need one. They will last you 6 months or more of regular usage, and will leave you in the same position as me. I'm never going to buy a normal screen protector again.

This is my 3rd skininomi purchase. I've had the skin for the entire phone for nexus 4. ( After it being worn out, they are sending me a replacement.) I ordered it for the LG G Pad 8.3. Worked perfectly. I bought the Nexus 5. Instead of their regular skin I decided to try the glass. the packaging is amazing. This is like iphone level packaging. Glass works so far because I just got it today. Unlike the skin they have you dont spray anything on the screen. You have to make sure there are no dust. This one is a bit more challenging. You need a real steady hand to land the screen. You gotta do it quick, fast, and precise bc dust do fly it from area. anyway it flushes on real quickly. I still have a corner park that is not sticking much but its whatever I am easy to please. The material of the screen feels fantastic. and I have it on a ringku case and it doesn't alter the edge maybe bc its a hard case. So far so good. and I cant complain about their warranty. It's awesome product and awesome service. Protects the value of your phone when u want to resell it. I might a screen protection for my ipad next! =)
