Kidde Carbon Monoxide Detector, Plug In Wall with 9-Volt Battery Backup, Digital LED Display - 2 Pack

This seems to be great product as it is my second order as I replace in the various levels of our townhouse. I like the fact that they plug into wall sockets but also have a battery backup if the power goes out.

We purchased 4 of these detectors and plugged one near our bedroom upstairs and another one downstairs. Within the first few days, they saved our lives. We were awoken at about 1:30 AM with both alarms going off. The one in our bedroom read 463, and the downstairs unit read 268 and the numbers were still climbing (the readings should be ZERO). We immediately opened the windows and left the house with the dogs. We had our contractor look at the situation the next morning as he was here for another project we have going. The photo shows what he found. Had we not had the detectors, we likely would not be here. Turns out the problem likely occurred when some work was done on the boot around the outside vent pipe on the roof, and it loosened the connections to our boiler. These carbon monoxide detectors will sound LOUDLY, will give a bright display of the reading, and all you have to do is install the 9V battery that’s included and then plug it in (unless you only want to operate it with the battery). It has to have the battery installed (required as a backup power source), but can operate without AC power.

Quality product delivered on time

You need a CO detector in every level of your home. I like these detectors because they have a digital readout, a reset button and a "peak level" button. I have used these detectors for years. You plug them into a wall socket and they have a 9V battery backup that is very useful during power failures. You can't go wrong with this CO detector. I have used many different detectors in the past because I teach a course about CO and I want to suggest good CO detectors to my students.

Okay product however the Tech support by Kidde is not very helpful -! Last purchase lasted almost exactly 10 years bought additional replacement Carbon Monoxide & fire alarms for home after seeking advise from Kidde Tech support however not pleased with some misinformation provided and no return call as requested was ever received from Kidde!

They haven't gone off and I haven't died, so looks like they work.

I got these mainly cause I live alone and 70 yrs old. I installed them as per instructions . Then tested them , I would like to say they meet any and all expectations I had about them. I can surely reccommend them to someone in need of a device like this for your protection .

Good product (i have used it before as well) and i appreciated that they came with batteries for the back up feature.

Two of the 12 packages were missing the battery pack and the battery Holder. Also missing was the back cover....

They seem good, a couple were banged up from shipping but they still work. All of them were manufactured well over a year ago... so only time will tell if they still last ten years or not.
