Amerelle 163DDB Century Wallplate, 1 Duplex, Bronze

I ordered several of these Amerelle Century coverplates in various configurations and two finish colors, brushed bronze and antique copper. The finish colors are very close to the photos. Brushed bronze looks more like what I’d call a light antique brass, which is what I’d hoped it would look like. It’s yellowish with a little brown undertone and a light brushed finish. It looks classic without looking dated. The Century covers are a little deeper than some others, which helps when you have thick devices like dimmers and fan switches, or retrofit electrical boxes. The covers still fit back tightly to the wall. They’re a midsize cover, so they cover some sloppy drywall work next to the electrical box, but not everything. The beveled edge is very classic looking. They look more expensive than they actually are. They’re thin metal (definitely not solid brass like some more expensive options) that will bend easily, and the screws are very soft metal and the threads and screw heads are easily damaged. Overall they look good for the money, but you have to be careful when installing not to bend the plate or damage the screws.

Not a polished brass as I can see, it’s more like a brass looking coating, it has way too many imperfections, just look at the pictures, it’s barely ok when looking far away, once you look close , it’s more like a recycled plate with a coating.
