Scholastic Success With Writing: Grade 3

Teaching third grade, this book is a great transition filler or exit ticket activity.

So we’ll designed! Totally love that it’s a step by step activity that build up of my students knowledge gradually. Easy to teach as well. Absolutely love that it achieve all the goals of the common core for this and every grade.Highly recommend it.

I cannot recommend this little book enough! My son is dyslexic and we have always done shurley English. This book is so great at working on the simple things I feel like shurley does not talk much about. I LOVE it. Short pages. A lot of variety in what they each cover and his writing is improving.

The book is a good to establish fundamental written skills for kids, it's NOT an advanced writing guide. We bought two different grades and overall they are easy for kids to follow. My kids do 3 chapters per week, along with other vocabulary, reading and writing materials.

I bought several of these books due to the pandemic. I had a feeling much of what my children needed to learn was either forgotten or not learned. What can we expect from crisis learning followed by a 'summer slide?' I bought the pandemic grade and the subsequent grade. My children get 1 page/day from this and several other books from this group. I highly recommend them. It definitely brushed their skills back up without excessive neediness from me to assist (but I still have to check the work).

My kids are doing school from home due to COVID and the school is having a hard time getting and actual lesson plan down so I ordered one of these for my 3rd grader and another in the 2nd grade level for my 7 year old and it’s been great. When there doesn’t seem to be anything for them to actually work on for school I have them work on this and then I tear the pages out and turn them in to their teachers via email so they can have something to grade them on.

My 2nd and 3rd grader homeschoolers look forward to doing this workbook vs the kumon reading and writing. This is a much better writing workbook supplement than the kumon which I’ve used in the past for them. They complained kumon was too repetitive. (I still love kumon for extra math practice)

Scholastic has good collection of English practice books. Concepts are explained well and the exercise are very interactive.

I think this series is very well designed for teaching english language skills. I think that the price is also very reasonable.
