More like incense. I was disappointed because I wanted the sharp cinnamon smell.

Ingesting essential oils is a debatable topic. I do ingest them and so does my whole family. However, this one isn't not one I would add to tea or anything I would be eating or drinking. It would look for one that's isn't bark.

The problem is many companies claim its pure oil, but they do use carrier oil and dilute them. So if the company is dodgy answering questions, it's highly possible that it;s not 100% pure extract, but mixing it with 35% of another carrier oil, which could dilute the oil (if the intention is to use for oral purposes or intake) and possibly cause irritation to skin etc. The oil is only effective for anti bacterial, anti viral and other diabetic control if it's highly pure.

I think it smells like cinnamon mixed with a bit of cloves. It's a very nice holiday scent.
