The Ultimate Tool for Teaching Kids (and Adults!) How Germs Really Spread
As someone involved in youth education, I was eager to try Glo Germ Gel, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. This is, without a doubt, the most effective and engaging way to teach children—and specifically our group of Cub Scouts—about proper handwashing and cross-contamination. The process is simple: apply a tiny drop of the gel (which is invisible in normal light) to hands, rub it in, and then let the kids go about a typical activity (shaking hands, touching doorknobs, passing out snacks). When we brought out the black light, the lesson became instantly clear, tangible, and fun. The "glowing germs" were everywhere, illustrating just how easily and quickly germs travel from person to person and surface to surface. The Scouts were fascinated and, more importantly, genuinely motivated to go back and wash their hands thoroughly under the black light to ensure every last speck of glow was gone. The gel itself washes off easily with soap and water and a little scrubbing, and the 8 ounce bottle goes a very long way—you only need a pea-sized amount per person. If you are a teacher, a scout leader, a parent, or anyone who needs a powerful, visual, and memorable way to demonstrate hygiene principles, Glo Germ Gel is a phenomenal investment. Highly recommended for its educational impact and sheer fun factor!

career day for kids- def worth it
I got a few bottles of these lotions to mimic germs and I had the kids try to wash it off- Then I applied a UV light so they can see how well they did. great teaching tool

Works perfectly to show how germs spread!
This is a really cool product. I got it in an attempt to help show my kids how gems spread and why it's so important to wash our hands frequently to prevent spreading germs. This is so visual and is perfect for kids of all ages to learn. I used this on my hands and with the help of a Gearlight UV flashlight, I was able to show how germs get on everything that I touch, until I wash my hands and get rid of them. The blaklight showed everything so clearly, as you can see in the video!

Science experiment
Glo-germ was used for my daughter's science experiment at school. It was very effective for an elementary school setting for showing kids how well to wash their hands with soap and water. The only drawback I found was that you always had to use the right amount which is difficult when kids are using it. Too much gel lotion created messy hands and lots of massaging to get rid of it. Too little gel lotion and the effect of "seeing the germs" was difficult. In general it was very successful.

Just so everyone knows a little goes a long way. Don't use if you dont want to see how badly you or someone else washes their hands/body. Shows the germs so well. My pre-k class thought it was gross and cool all at the same time. I have purchased this product in smaller quantities multiple times.

A little goes a long way
This was a great product to teach elementary students about spreading germs and the importance of handwashing. I got UV flashlights because I thought they would make it easier to search for the “germs” than the little letting single led, and then the kids could search at the same time. The students were amazed how just one person can spread their germs all over a school and onto other people. On the second day, I put some of this glogerm gel into a small spray bottle, added a little water to make it thin enough to spray (but not too diluted because I wanted it to show up), to demonstrate how sneezing and coughing without covering can spray droplets everywhere, how a “vampire” cough or sneeze works, how productive coughs or sneezes into tissues still can contaminate hands, how a mask helps prevent spread, etc. I coughed the slightly diluted glogerm into my hand with the spray bottle and showed how I could spread those germs quickly (wiped on my shirt, touched the table, opened a door, and more). We also used it to show the kids the spots they were missing when they wash their hands so they could improve their handwashing. A small amount of this gel, maybe a nickel-sized amount, is all that is needed per person. I wish there was a size between the 2oz and 8oz bottle, because we were worried 2oz may not be enough but now we have probably 1/2-2/3 of the 8oz bottle left. The first photo is a student’s hand prior to handwashing, and the second one is showing where I simulated a cough with the diluted glogerm onto a table.
