Hold that camera!
The media could not be loaded. Having used my FLIP camera many times, I wished for a way to take shots that using a tripod would not do.The Flip Action Mount for Flip Ultra and Mino Camcorders does the job. it was created to strap on the handlebars of a bike or motorcycle, so I thought it would work well on a fishing pole.In truth there is too much movement involved when you hook a fish, but I found it works well enough. I also tied with wire, not totally trusting velcro to hold over water.It was so exciting to be able to watch this video and share with friends. The Flip Video Camcorder is just AWESOME! And the Action Mount is a great accessory.

Limited Utility
The utility of the Flip Action Mount is quite limited. I believe the product should be renamed to the Flip Handle Bar Mount because that seems to best express its function. I have had mine for several weeks and have yet to find an alternative configuration for the mount. Perhaps Flip should publish a webpage for user reported uses of the mount since Flip only shows the handlebar use in its materials. I would not buy this unless you believe you have a purpose for it which you can discern from the photos available or if you like to ride your bike while filming.

Flip Video Mount
This unit sort of serves its design purpose. The crossover velcro straps are confusing and hard to get a tight mounting with. The Flip Ultra that I use it with mounts vertically, about 4" above the mount so there is a lot of leverage to move the mount if the camera top is hit. I ended up drilling and screwing it down to get a solid mount to my ATV. It is cheap but there are better mounts out there.

NOT WORTH IT
Besides the necessary strap arrangements being confusing the velcro isn't wide enough to provide a good hold. I bought this with the intention of mounting it in my plane but ending up cutting the velcro off and using radiator clamps in their place and it works great. This should also work on bike handlebars or you could use ty-wraps instead. So, it wasn't a complete loss.

almost worthless as manufactured
the Velcro straps and instructions are close to worthless.If you spend the time to change the the straps to some much stronger gripping Velcro the mount will be ok for some applications.the octopus type mini tripods work much better than this action mount.i ended up using electrical tape to hold it on my handle bars.i think some of the reviews are for the flip camera here, which is fine,the action mount, save your money or be prepared to modify it..

Not too bad, gOOD FOR THE COST
This is a good mount that will even work mounted on a Motocross helmet. My only gripe is that the Velcro could be a little longer and more beefy for ease of use. It is adequate to get the job done but could be better. But, for the price I am more than happy.

It actually does work
This little gadget does work and I have two of them. I have strapped them to shopping carts, jogging strollers and handlebars. The product does hold pretty well too.

Quality product
I use this on my quad on some tough trails. I expected the plastic to break but it didn't. Strong product however with all the bouncing the mount,with flip camera attached, would rotate.
