Rose with Pedag USA Customer Service: No, these are not boot stretchers. These are boot shapers that keep your boots upright, prevent creases, allow air to circulate so boots stay fresh inside. Boot stretching is a process best done by a good shoe repair with the equipment necessary prevent leather from tearing or weakening too much. This type of equipent does not cost less than $30.00.

Q: How far do these stretch out? Any more than 14 inches?

The circumference of the boot shaper when fully extended is 16" around at the widest part, which would be inside the calf area of the boot. When you squeeze the handle it brings the two plastic shafts closer together allowing you to slide it down into the boot, then when you release the handle a spring opens the space between the two shafts, allowing it to form to the size of your boot. If your boot is greater than 16" in circumferance in any part, then it wouldn't work as intended. The 14" is the length of the shaft, which is not adjustable

Q: will it stretch/expand the boot shafts on a mans dickies boot?

No. These are definitely not stretchers. They allow tall boots to stand up while keeping their shape. My boots are almost to the knee, and they would not stand on their own without these boots shapers inserted. They are great for this purpose, but definitely not for stretching.
