Q: Mine stoppped ringing after eight months. Can someone tell me how long the warantee is?

Mine stopped working a few *weeks* after I received it. Garbage. Too late to return so no apparent recourse. And I'd bought and returned several other timers from Amazon that were not as described. Buyer beware here!

Q: How long does buzzer go off for?

Just long enough to hear a ding. It is not a good timer.

Q: Is this correct - Directions say to turn clockwise one complete rotation past the 0, then turn counter-clockwise to the desired time setting.

The ringer is long and loud - the "big turn" is to make sure that there is enough spring energy to fire up the ringer. In fact, you'll here the ticking even after the the ringer goes off - not for long, though.

Q: Does it tick -- need one that ticks for use with 123 Magic Child Discipline.

If it ticks, the sound is too slight to hear. In fact, if I don't carry it to the next room with me, I don't hear it at all unless I am focused on listening for the timer, which defeats the purpose. I personally would not recommend this timer.
