Kitchen Craft Living Nostalgia Vintage Blue Compost Bin LNCOMPBLU

I'm loving the little compost container. Ours is pale shade between aqua and gray/blue, and adds a nice pop of color as it sits on the counter top next to our sink. It is a good size for us: 4 3/4" W x 6 1/2" L x 8" H (without lid) or about 8 5/8" H with lid (minus handle on lid). It is not too large to be obtrusive and when it fills we can easily empty it into our backyard compost bin. The lid is snug fitting and has so far kept smells and fruit flies at bay. I also like the fact ours came with 2 carbon filters, which fit inside the lid and cover the breathable holes in the lid.

Attractive countertop item. We ordered bulk paper bags based on the provided dimensions, and now have all our composting bags at 1/20 (or less) the cost of the "special" recycle bags. The small size means we have to empty it a bit more often than our previous ugly green/grey plastic bin provided by our city, which BTW didn't properly fit ANY standard sized recycle bags. The smaller size does however provide more location options for us, and this product looks great at all of them!

I love the look of this compost bin and the size. I have some trouble with the lid needing to be perfectly in place before pushing it down to seal it otherwise it falls into the bucket. My wife had the great idea to put it in the fridge to avoid fruit flies which have been a problem with numerous compost buckets. This is the perfect size to store in the fridge and be emptied regularly to avoid nastiness. I do clean it with our garden hose if something messy has been sitting in it or in the kitchen sink on lighter weeks. For a couple ot takes almost 2 weeks to fill.

I wanted a small compost container that I can leave on the counter and this meets the criteria. It is attractive, not too big, has a charcoal filter, well fitting lid that is easy to open and close, and comes with a generous sleeve of made to fit liner bags. The bags say they are commercially compostable. I would buy it again.

I have the Tea and Coffee containers that match, I've had them for a couple years. They are sturdy, easy to clean , well made and attractive. They are light so easy to handle. I bought this Compst bin to match. Great size, I cannot smell the scraps inside. Now I don't have to use coffee cans for scraps...this looks better on counter.

This is a great way to get into the habit of composting to help save the world. Do your part in any way. I use the hefty compostable bags for this compost bin. Sits on my counter near the sink and is so charming looking. The things in it do not get very stinky at all, but I do have it away from any sunlight and i do empty it every three days.

Updating my review now that I have had it for 6 months. I still love the aesthetic look of this bin, and for a few months it worked great! Unfortunately the silicon ring around the lid which once stayed in place, is now sliding off and on and folding in on its self, not allowing the lid to stay on air tight. There are fruit flies sneaking inside it and all over my kitchen (I empty and wash the bin once a week). Now in the market for a new one. I expected for 32 dollars for it to last me much longer than 6 months. Will have to find another purpose for it so it does not go to waste. . . Slim and attractive countertop bin! Doesn’t even look like it is meant to store compost scraps. Seals airtight and comes with filters. Smaller than I thought it would be, but a good size. just needed something on the countertop so I could avoid getting out my giant collection bucket every time I had a small scrap (picture for size reference)

Bought to replace a previous one that had rusted inside a little from composting bags leaking. Perfect for me! Great for one person who eats lots of vegetables and fruit. Easy to carry to my garden compost bin. And easy to clean. I keep it under my sink and there are no odours due to the carbon filter. I’ve never experienced a problem with flies as some other customers have.

Bought this product mid May with an estimated delivery date at the end of May. The delivery day kept being postponed and I couldn't even cancel this order. I finally received this product end of September. Waited 4 months for a bad product. The lid doesn't even close properly and is hard to open again. If you have some time and money to waste, then I recommend to buy this product. Otherwise just buy something cheaper with a better quality and quicker delivery date.

My mom loved it for mother’s day! I do wish it was a tiny bit bigger as it filled up quickly, but other then that it is super cute and does look very nice in the kitchen.

It's absolutely gorgeous and is quite sturdy. The lid is sealed on quite well and the charcoal filter helps to keep the odor in it's place! I was quite impressed w/ the construction of it....very well made....beautiful colour. A lot of people said the lid was hard to take off....I didn't have issues w/ this. If you are an individual that doesn't have strong hands (perhaps arthritis) then perhaps you'd have an issue....I certainly didn't. I'd recommend this product and this line to anyone....SUPER AWESOME! The only thing I'll note is I wasn't expecting it to be so small -- I didn't really check out the dimensions before purchasing. I'm ok w/ the size b/c I think it should be emptied often or would be gross to empty.
