I specifically chose this one because it's a derma roller with titanium needles, which are known for being durable and sharp, which is important for beard area. When I use it, it feels sturdy and well-made in my hand. It's surprisingly easy to roll over my beard area, and while you definitely feel the tiny needles, it's not painful – more like a slight tingling sensation. I'm primarily using it to create micro-channels in the skin to help my beard oils and serums absorb better, and also to stimulate blood flow and collagen production, which are supposedly good for hair follicles. The roller itself seems good quality and solid, but the 0.75 size really hurts if you’re not used to microneedling. It was more painful than I expected, especially on sensitive areas. If you’re new to this, I’d go with a shorter length first. Once you get used to it, maybe then move up. It works fine, just not very comfortable starting out.

Only used it once so far but I like it. My wife and I hit a couple thinning spots on our heads and both could feel the "needles". We got the 1mm and I think that's the way to go for your scalp. Shorter and it might not reach through your hair, longer and you might be suffering from a stabby scalp. Combining this with red light therapy to help, didn't want to go the monoxidil route after reading the side effects around depression and moods changes.
