It works for left and right hip
Please note it can be used for both sides/right or left.. looking at the Amazon photo helped me as I was trying to Velcro to front of waist and leg… you have to turn around to get left side to fit.

Hip support
This is my third brace since January. It helps with the pain and takes some pressure off my hip. Unfortunately, the Velcro wears out.

It worked for me.
I am a older volunteer at an animal shelter. (You should try it. Find a No-Kill shelter in your area, or a shelter that is not yet No-Kill but wants to be, and volunteer there. It can be wonderful.) I walk dogs - mostly medium to large, young, energetic dogs who are really tired of being in a smallish kennel. Unfortunately, if you are older they can wear you down. (I mentioned the age thing earlier. I am not old, but survey forms generally find me checking the 0ver 65 years box on the age form. (Ok, perhaps I check the Over 70 box.)) Well, somehow what I assume is a groin muscle started acting up; Perhaps because of age, or perhaps because block headed, fun dog Bruce wanted to go right and I was going left. Anyway, every time I walked dogs the groin or whatever muscle’s snap, pop, or general message to the brain that said, “Ahhhhhh, what was that?” while my right leg seriously considered throwing me to the ground hurt more than just a little. I tried the “RICE” thing that Google implied would help. It did work but a few stiff drinks after sundown worked about as well. I asked my Family Practice MD, and even my ER Doc son. (Let’s just say that age and RICE were mentioned by both highly educated docs. Please do not misunderstand. I know I am old and I had some great years eating rice in regions like Japan and China, but all of the age comments plus all of the rice in China (and/or Japan) did not help the groin problem.) I decided that since most of my problems that could not be solved on Google likely had a solution on Amazon. A simple search found this Bodymate Compression Brace for various maladies. And, those maladies included the, by now very mistrusted, Groin muscle. Let me try to be less wordy and skip to the conclusion. This things works. I have walked dogs several times and helped my son install a 15 foot tall reindeer created from 6 sheets of 3/4 inch plywood while wearing the Bodymate with very minimal groin muscle complaints. The muscle is happy. I am happy. My consumption of various pain meds has significantly decreased. And, my consumption of alcohol in the evenings... Well, it has not increased. I have no idea how this product works on any of the other muscles listed, or much if an idea of where those muscles are, but I am going to just recommend the Bodymate for whatever muscle in the lower back or groin or upper leg region bothers you. It is inexpensive, much more comfortable than you would think, and it mitigates the pain. I like it.

Not very firm or comfortable
Not a firm support as expected, a little slack. Also rubs against my other thigh making it uncomfortable to walk. Wear only with pants.

This has got to be a joke, or more likely a Nightmare!!!
This claims to be for either let, but it is designed to go on the left leg. To put it on the right leg, the around the waist strap must be fastened in the back. Take one end in one hand, the other end in the other hand, then reach around in back and try to line them up properly. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TIGHTEN, at the least bit of tension the velcro lets loose. Then take the 3 straps that go around the leg, hold 2 in one hand and the other in the other hand. Reach behind your leg and attach to each other, again being very careful not to put ANY PRESSURE on the verlcro, because it will let loose. Now attempt to walk with the leg straps hanging on one side and the belt straps hanging loose behind you. You are now strapped in! Next, call Amazon Customer support and spend 45 minutes attempting to communicate with someone who neither understands or speaks understandable English. Tell her everything 3 or 4 times, slowly, and enunciating carefully. She will put you on hold 8 or 9 times while she speaks to her "lead". However, she does apologize for having you on hold every time, though you will need to start at the beginning again. Finally she catches on and offers to refund you the base price, but not the Sales Tax. When you try to explain that you paid sales tax on the order she asks 'how many tacks did you get'. Finally the "lead" authorized her to give you a refund. Then you ask for a return label, and she asks "what for?". After a couple more huddles with her lead, she tells you she will send you a return label. After you hang up, you open the last e-mail and find that you are obligated to return the item at a "Whole Foods Store". I live in rural Co, and have no desire to drive 70 miles when gas is nearly $5.00 per gallon to search for a Whole Foods Store. Total time elapsed at this point nearly 60 minutes. Fortunately, I did call back and spoke to a "real" person, got things straightened out.

It relieved the pain
I work a very active job constantly moving, bending, twisting, lifting, etc. my sciatica comes and goes, but for the last two weeks, it was very painful and steady. Nothing worked so I ordered this belt and put it when I started work, by the end of my shift I could barely feel the pain. After a hour-two being home I haven’t had it on and I haven’t had any pain. This is the first thing that ever made it be relieved.

Not very comfortable but it works. Be careful of size and which side.
