Who knew there were so many types of flowers, leaves, stems, and roots! I considered myself wellversed in botany before I bought this book. Since buying and opening it for the first time, my knowledge of plants has grown leaps and bounds. Well worth the investment!

I bought this book as a gift for my college freshman kiddo. It was on my list of to-buys as it had great reviews as a very in-depth book on plants and plant science with beautiful photos and I thought it would be a nice addition to their bookshelf. It is well-loved, referenced often, and their younger sibling often borrows the book for high school biology.

I got this as a gift for a plant enthusiast and he loved it. The pictures are vibrant, the book is dense, and it is easy to read. It's both functional and a nice tabletop accessory.

This is one of my favorite smithsonian books. It is suitable for ages 8 and up. The illustrations are beautiful ! It is a well made and heavy book. i hope the binding will stay intact. highly recommended.

For those who want to know full detail information about plants this is the book but I wanted it for art reference images to draw and paint it only have 4-5 images but also since I love flowers and plants I might keep it for gardening, it’s very heavy awesome layout

This is a book that should be given to every child as soon as they are able to hold it. Forget fairy tales, this is the real world of wonders they should be shown exists right out the window, not in some faraway made up land. As to adults, no easier way than via this visual feast to rediscover what biology is, what you are, and that we are alive in a world full of wonder, if we would but see.
