Great, just about perfect
I already had a version that was not brushless that is still running strong but wanted to get this one, and Makita does not disappoint. This one feels smoother and can go faster I believe, and it is all I can ask for. Functions great and feels nice to hold, and if it is even better than the brushed version, this should last me forever.

Ain't no Ryobi!
I've cut down 8" trees with this thing. It's got plenty of power and holds up well. Only downside is shared with most cordless options: you need multiple batteries to handle bigger jobs. But if you've got 3-4 batteries and a couple fast chargers like I do, you'll never have to wait on one to charge to keep working

Very Useful For My Task
I used this to cut many (medium and large, fallen and crushed) bamboo stalks -- like butter. Very useful. It will be great to cut down and cut up small trees and shrubs. Like any saw, everyone using it should be very careful. It has a sliding button and it's important to be sure it is in off position when not using. It could be dangerous as it is so efficient. I am a 67 year old woman. It is heavy but manageable. I like owning it.

Makita quality
I used it with a 12 inch pruning blade to cut down three palm trees that had 14 inch diameter trunks. Great tool.

Cut it!
I bought this Sawzall to help demolish a 12'X32' storage shed, cut and trim small trees and brush stumps. It's got plenty of power and gets the job done quick. It's also heavy, but that's what I expected. One weak point that I found was the adjustable foot locking clamp/mechanism is poorly engineered. It's made of flexible plastic with two small metal tabs that go over the ends of the shaft that holds/allows the foot to be adjusted in length. On my Sawzall the plastic clamp, which has a lot of flex on the ends that connect to the shaft, came off causing the shaft locking the foot to fall out and the foot to fall off. It didn't seem worth fixing, as I'm sure it would have fallen off again. So I've simply just re-inserted the foot and the shaft that holds it and wrap a piece of tape round the front of the tool to keep the shaft from sliding out. I'm not using the clamp at all. In spite of this one flaw, I would buy this tool again. Hence four stars.

Go to YouTube U...
While you're waiting for yours to show up, a little time on YouTube may save some cognitive dissonance. What had been a (to-me much-missed) lockout switch on older models is now a speed-range selector and the shoe-adjustment lock is now a lever instead of buttons. Some reviewers have complained about that lever breaking. Dunno how -- especially if you're working two-handed -- and I won't be doing research. As for the rest of the tool, it's a brushless Makita and even has a rafter hook. Nufsed.
