Its mains operated but UK plug supplied. Great machine.

Carol, I’ve tried my iPhone on the set and it’s charging . It may be you need to set the mode button on top of model. If still a problem contact azatom directly . The people there are very helpful and will put you on the right track. I myself don’t normally charge my I phone this way .good luck. William

Q: Is the cd player gapless? if so, great, but if it isn't its annoying when playing a live album and there are gaps in between each song, pointless!

I would have thought that would have been more of a CD issue rather than the player, I know when I’ve used mine I have a distinct gap between each track, usually a couple of seconds, but I’ve always thought it was due to how the CD was produced with the manufacturer, by that I mean the tracks downward fade then gap of a second or two then starts next track. The best placed people to answer this would be the manufacturer and the supplier of the cd itself. You’ve got me thinking about it now though and may have to borrow one of my brothers live concert cds.

Q: Can you have time show when not in use and also when in use? I want to use this as a radio alarm clock

It only shows the time when connected to the power supply & turned ON, I had a CD system 20 years ago that did show the time when not in use so in that respect the Azatom is a step backwards.
