Q: I bought this but cables kept snapping where they were cripped like to get credit for them should have looked at reviews prior purchasing

The problem is that the turnbuckles are stainless steel and are capable of exerting more pull than the cable is designed for. I have used these cables and turnbuckles without issue. Also, it is easy to braid loops if the cable breaks.

Q: is the stainless cable 1/16" thick ?

No I would say it is 1/8" to 3/16" thick or something in between. I am at work so I can't measure it. I did not use it. I have strapping used to pull underground pipe that I used instead.
