School Ship Tobermory

Not among his best books but with AM-S, you can never go wrong.

I loved am smiths story and illustrations. I was on a similar ship many years ago. I am reading the three books as fast as I can so that I can give them to a granddaughter before she leaves on a semester at sea. The books are too young for her, but she will learn a lot about a school ship from them.

Alexander McCall Smith's books for children should be required by every parent. Children love the adventures while they are involved in solving problems.

My 6th grader didn’t like this book. Some of the verbiage is weird and the story isn’t great.

I did not realize that it was children's story

My 8 year old daughter has loved this series of books!

I can tell this will be the first of many in this series. Now Alexander McCall Smith has written this book I can see there has been a dire need for ones like it. The first two books are full of the sort of adventures a child would want to be a part of. Fun new characters snd I can't wait to read more about them!

Loved it! I am an adult, and hadn't realised that this was a young person's book. Even so, I read it and enjoyed it. Written with Alexander McCall-Smith's unique style and imagination, it is testimony to his skill of appealing to all age groups.. Have just read the second one in the series, and it was just as good, if not better.

i thought this book was amazing. it is full of exitement and adventure and is a fun read. i award it 5* because its so amazing. my favourite character was badger

A great read for younger children.a school that is also a ship. The chaos, adventures and story is different and exciting. Introducing children to a new way of seeing the sea and also learning some new teems.a good read.
