Good portability! Dropped the temperature of my keyboard substantially
I had a trip planned not very long after ordering this cooler. My main laptop cooler, by this same company I believe, works FANTASTIC, but it is much too large to travel with. I was very excited for this one, entirely different set up. It kind of clamps onto your laptop and acts as a vacuum sucking out hot air from the side of your laptop. The charger itself isn’t much larger than a mouse, and its gets its power from the laptop so no extra plug in needed. My laptop gets extremely hot around where my CPU is, and this did fantastic as managing it. I didn’t get exact heat measurements but normally my laptop can get so hot that typing on the keyboard is physically uncomfortable. This set up kind of needs to use used at a desk, it would work in your lap or something but the unit just hangs off the side and its probably more at risk that way. Would recommend this for traveling, fantastic company and products.

Keeping track of laptop temperature
Used to keep laptop cool while performing a very long data recovery and backup. Works fine.

It does what it says well, at a cost.
I was unsure what to expect with this product when I ordered it. I considered the information I read on reviews, the product information and the knowledge I have on how computers and laptops work. Having received and used this product, this is my take on it. First, do not expect a miracle product. This product will do as advertised, if it is installed properly. Some have commented on directions, there is no need. This product is quite self explanatory, and honestly, if proper installation and use cannot be obtained by simply looking at the included items, you should ask for help. You do want it to work after all, that is why you bought it. My experience with it shows me that I can expect, in a non air conditioned room, at best a 10 degree C drop in temp, this experienced at idle. This equates to an idle temp of 60 dropping to 50, average. Yes, my laptop runs quite hot as all users of this model can attest to. If you are looking for something other than that, it is probably best to look elsewhere, as in my opinion, this product won't do it for you. My likes: It does a great job at pulling the stagnant air out of the laptop case. While I cannot provide sensor data to support this, I can say that I feel a difference on the palm rests of the laptop... being warm without and cool with. This is inline with the advertisement of the product, and it does in fact do what it says it will. That said, there are some dislikes. The mounting I believe to be inadequate. If less cost was spent on features that are non functionality positive such as the thin plastic suction cup attachment and automatic features, more could have been done to make the product better for its intended use. The plastic suction cup mount is next to useless. I would highly suggest you use the metal mounting plate even if you do not stick it to your laptop. I can say first hand that it works just fine, and far better than the plastic option. My laptop sits on a docking station, but I do sometimes have it off. The metal plate works for all, and the plastic one, nothing. Plus, as I mentioned, there is even no need to use the adhesive tape. I don't, having my laptop not on a flat service most of the time. IF you travel, you will want to secure it though. Another issue I have as it relates to value for my dollar... Monitoring the temperature of the air coming out of my laptop is not very useful. Not completely useless, but not very useful. I would prefer that cost be allocated to a higher powered fan (with higher speed options and greater quality) and replacing the electronics with a simply manual dial from 0-10. All modern laptops (I am sure someone will find one that does not) have internal sensors that you can utilize to monitor temperatures. Those are the temps you want to see, the ones that are detected at the spot of your actual hardware components. While I understand that most users do not know how to use these, if you are looking for a product like this, it might be time to brush up and learn as all it will do is help in the goal of system cooling. My final words... overall I like the product and would buy it again. I think it is overpriced. However, if you want a product like this, the prices don't get much cheaper. The clamping bars on the top is what makes this item stand out from many others. This is not the only brand that has them, but it is a major factor on functionality and proper fit. I gave 4/5 stars because I think it is comparatively well priced and some of the manufacturing cost was put into making it look neat where it could have been applied to core functionality. That said, this product does what it says and works quite well. Take that as you will. If the cost is ok, this is a good product.

Quality control issues
Worked one day. Next day, it powers off and on constantly (in manual mode). Of course powering off and on switches to auto mode, so I reset it to manual, and way for the cycle to repeat. I concur with complaints about instructions. There is a language issue. The first day it worked was great, noisy but great. It really cooled my CPU, with temperature reporting consistent with Lenovo vantage measurements. It was cheap, so I'll right it off, but save your money. <UPDATE> Although it appears to have a mind of its own, it is cooling my Lenovo P73 now. I just don't bother with the settings (AT/MT, whatever) and let it run. It's loud, but for the money, it's working.

works really well
i put two of these on both side vents of my gaming laptop and now my laptop runs at 81 degrees at the most when playing super graphics heavy games that use to run at 110 degrees F. make sure your laptop has plenty of clearance and airflow and you can run basically anything

Actually works
Was skeptical on first impression and when learning to install, but I am actually impressed. This little thing does more on it's own than a cheap cooling pad. To be fair, I am fighting a known piece of junk with heating issues in an ASUS F15 laptop that is frequently hot and CPU throttled when gaming, and not much makes any difference short of a GT500 pad and the jet turbine engine level of noise that goes with it. I find that auto mode is not aggressive enough and I must run it manual mode with fan on highest setting, but this little vacuum by itself actually takes the top off the temps - laptop is still overheating, but less so, and it is obvious to me when playing a game that the CPU is not continuously throttled. This vacuum combined with a cheap (quiet) cooling pad makes the laptop usable, just not so much of a portable device...

Great idea ... needs slight improvements
The idea for this product is great. The noise level is low, and the airflow improves cooling of my laptop. My biggest complaints are: 1 - The instructions are only in Chinese(?). I don't know. I can't read them. Nor are there adequate pictures to use those as instructions. It's a bit of guesswork to get everything connected properly. 2 - The springs are too weak to actually hold the product in place. It does come with a piece with a sticky patch you can "permanently" attach to the laptop, but who wants to do that? Stronger springs or some type of vice-grip would be a better, temporary attachment (as the unit is meant to be).

Temperature shown isn't accurate. It's lower by 5°C. Air volume is much lower compared to another identical product by another brand purchased back in 2014.

This cooler is absolutely great, it's able to help keep my laptop cooler so I can overclock it further. Some of the reviews say don't buy it because it barely works however that is not true. This cooler pulls air more quickly across a laptop heatsink than a normal laptop fan can, which improves cooling; a lot of people put this on their old laptops thinking it'll solve their overheating however it cannot. If your old laptop is overheating it is caused by dried-out thermal paste that needs to be replaced [CPU->thermal paste->heatpipe->heatsink->cooled by laptop fan. In short, if your old laptop is having overheating problems replace the thermal paste. If your laptop thermal paste is good but you have a weak fan, a dead fan, or just a small heatsink then this cooler will improve your cooling. Pros: -Better cooling from more air through the heatsink -Easy to use -Both Auto and Manual Modes -can allow for overclocking without overheating Cons: -Is a bit loud however its noise is on par with laptop fans that move the same amount of air
