Review: (please note: this review is for the series as a whole) The website Lingualism has, over the past couple of years, published several 'Arabic Readers' series in various dialects of Arabic, with the modern standard series being the largest at 30 books (smaller collections also exist in Egyptian, Levantine and Maghrebi Arabic). It's difficult to exaggerate how useful these readers are. Anyone who has ever attempted to master a foreign language will tell you that extensive reading and listening are essential in the journey to fluency and these readers provide both (audio recordings can be accessed at Lingualism's website). They are certainly amongst the best Arabic language resources I have used and have provided a much needed helping hand in improving my literacy. I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you are just starting out in Arabic, they may prove a little challenging, but for those with a little grammar and vocabulary behind them, they are perfect. Review: The series of Levant and Egyptian dialect stories are brilliant. If only they had been around 30 years ago when I started learning Arabic. There are quite a lot of of other Egyptian dialect materials on the market, but the books produced by Lingualism and, most importantly, the excellent accompanying audio have enabled me to learn Levant dialect very fast. Thanks to Matthew and his team for producing such a first class product. Basically, as fast as he publishes books, I buy them.
