Simple, comfortable, and stretchy
I generally wear a size 34 waist in pants, I have muscular thighs and glutes, and my body fat is at about 17%. My legs aren't super huge, though, like some athletes, but I do have trouble finding jeans that fit well on me. I ordered the Large size of these shorts and they fit snug, but they're not overly constricting, and that's how I like them. I had owned a pair of XL champion compression shorts in the past which fit me but were not as tight as I personally like, so I sized down with this order. In terms of quality, for about $12 a pair I think these are a very good value. They're very light weight, soft, with a comfortable waist band and no stitching or tags that feel annoying. They're not thick material, they're really more of an undergarment than a true compression short. But I only needed something that was very stretchable and 100% non restrictive, and these fit the bill for me in that regard. I wear these as bottoms while weight training with nothing else, there's no fly and they don't become see-through when stretched, so I think they're fine when used as an outergarment. I could care less about appearance in the gym, I wanted something that was functional with deep squats and deadlifts, these shorts work perfectly for me.

Just what I was looking for- but with a couple of issues
I have always like Champion products, having bought gym shirts, shorts and sweatshirts over the years. They have lasted a long time without unusual fading, stretching, pilling or tearing. Nice products. I do have Nike and UA items that are nice but are overpriced imo.I was looking for compression (underwear) shorts to give my quads some support and also help with the shorts bunching up the legs while riding the gym bike. So far these Champion shorts are perfect for what I want. What I like:1. Very comfortable2. Good fit, do not bunch up3. No problem around the 'package'- good fit4. Lightweight but good quality and stretch feel5. Nice grip on thighs -good support and not too tightWhat I don't like but are not dealbreakers for me1. Narrow waistband (prefer a thicker one)2. Cloth tag with laundering info off center inside left... but, do not feel it at all3. Need to (initially) wash with like colors... black will bleed into the water. I would think the bleeding will decrease after a few washes. Not a problem for me since most of my gym stuff is dark, but beware.I will update the review if these prematurely start to have problems but once again I do have confidence in Champion products. Great deal imo at the current Amazon price.

Twice the Quality at Half the Price
This is exactly what I was looking for to help recover from a torn muscle from running. I bought a pair of the well-known brand Under Armor and these, because they were half the price and I wanted to compare them. UA has changed their material and sewing methods and offer no actual compression, especially around the quad. Over-priced garbage now. Be a sheep if you want to but you'll be spending more time in the ice bath because you wanted to fit in.Champion makes good products but has never been known as a premium brand. When I put them on I instantly felt a difference. They are tight without being constricting, wick away sweat and are long enough to protect all the necessary muscles and tendons in your upper leg. I will not be buying anymore UA gear, and I will absolutely order more of these. I appreciate a company that puts their money into the product and not advertising. The price was great considering I can get twice as many pairs as UA. Any athlete knows that when it comes to protecting yourself from injury with sports gear, it's about Function, Quality and Efficacy. These do the trick amazingly well, and something tells me my muscles aren't going to care what name is on the tag or how much they cost. Highly recommend.

Item too tight
Item was too tight to put on compared to same brand and size labeled ones I currently own. Inseam also was longer than specified. It is listed as a XL I would rate it as a Large or Medium. It seemed to be well made out of Vietnam.

Very comfortable with moderate compression
I bought these knowing that the percent of spandex, 16%, would provide a lower amount of compression than some of the more expensive compression shorts. Given that knowledge, these are great shorts. The are not so tight that they are restrictive and the legs actually reach to my knees, something that hasn't happened with other shorts I have bought. All of this earned these shorts four stars. One thing that I have not liked with previous compression shorts I've owned is the lack of any feature that prevents crushing of my boys. With the advent of pouch front underwear this problem went away for my everyday wear. But with few exceptions, the pouch front has not really found its way into compression shorts. These shorts are no exception. However, and this is what gives these shorts the fifth star in my review, the have an insert panel in the front that is only 8% spandex. While the mfg identifies this panel as being for ventilation, it also serves as a pseudo-pouch. The stretchier material expands more than the body of the shorts to allow more room, but no excess room, for my junk. Very comfortable.

Long, comfortable and no riding up the wrong places.
I love these! First off, I am a woman who wanted these for an athletic endeavor and dislike the cut of women's tights tremendously. I also REALLY HATE the way the manufacturers seem to run a central seam right up the midline in so many athletic tights and similar garments. The Champion Powerflex Compression Shorts have a wide band of material that runs from inner thigh over the crotch and to the opposing thigh. No riding up the crotch here! The shorts are also quite breathable and the material is very comfortable on the skin. Though the waist band is not super soft it is very strong, rugged and will hold up to lots of use. I like the extra length too because it helps prevent chafing on the lower thigh when I use them under jeans occasionally to ride my horse. It's a great bonus. After I bought one pair I ended up buying 6 of these total. I never want to be without:-)
