Easy to install - just be sure to pick the correct, included, adapter for your radiator. I would recommend buying a Zigbee gateway as it will make using the valves easier - as it can be done through the app. Once set up, very easy to use. Set temperature manually or program the valve to work automatically. Can control temp from your phone. REMEMBER: to control valve from your phone (Smart Life app) you need a Zigbee gateway.

I bought 5 of these with a hub. I connected them to the network and got readings reasonably easily, but the readings of several of them sitting in the same location differed by as much as 10 to 15 degrees. The battery compartment is too tight for rechargeable batteries, so I had to use standard batteries. I do need to get thermostatic vales installed for four of these actuators, and that will be done by a professional plumber. While he's doing that, I'll get him to fit the actuators to make sure it's not me that's doing something wrong. But I don't hold out much hope. The one radiator I had with a thermostatic valve has a set temperature of 16 degrees, but it's showing a reading of 24 degrees. If the plumber can't get these things working, they're going back.

Excellent product and was delivered ahead of schedule. Worked as expected and basically using my Echo Plus Routines as the main way to control my existing Hive as well as 5 of these TRV's and works really well. As already stated you will need a Zigbee Hub if you dont already have one but can get on Amazon for about £20. PAring with the hub very easy and all TRVs controllable via the free Smartlife app or via Alexa Echo. Would recommend as a way to manage your heating bills by controlling how much of the house you heat up rather than warm rooms no one is really in from time to time.

I have superfast broadband across the whole house with a deco system but the gateway did not connect with my WiFi even when it was beside the router. The connection is 2.4 only and some of my WiFi is 5.0 so probably will not work across a big area. I downloaded the smartlife app but it could not identify a unit - also no mention of how to put the valve in pairing mode for Bluetooth connection. It also arrived 2 days late and I to cancel a plumber who was going to set them up. Waste of time, I have returned them back to China but I had to pay for the tracked postage - not sure how long it will take to get the refund. Avoid anything with a long delivery date - pay a bit more for a known brand. I am getting them delivered tomorrow!

Overall they seem ok but I have 2 at the moment that suddenly start reading the room temperature as about 5 degrees higher than it really is, meaning they don't turn the radiator on when they should. One of them also flattened brand new batteries in a couple of weeks.If this persists I will be requesting replacements. I suspect a Quality Control problem.I've now had two more occasions when the batteries (in different valves) go from 100% to flat overnight. There's clearly a software bug somewhere, not happy.

Easy to use

Once the batteries are in place the unit needs to be fitted to the mounting plate already fixed to the valve. The locking pieces are very imprecise and takes many, many attempts to secure properly. unfortunately this is the only means to access the battery compartment, I'm not looking forward to changing the batteries when they run low, otherwise the installation and connection to the app is straight forward.
