Q: If you turn the stand upside down and place the dome upside down on top like a bowl, will it fit? Is it sturdy enough to use as a punch bowl?

If you turn the glass dome upside down and let go, it will fall over (and probably break). The handle / knob on the glass dome is slightly rounded and will not stand flat if turned upside down.

Q: Is this good for a homemade cheeseball?

You could definitely put it in there. But be ready to scrape cheese out of the ridge that the glass dome sits in if you’re eating off of the tray itself. I like to use my pampered chef scraper and sometimes wrap a hot paper towel around it to clean the ridge.
