Good brand
I like this brand because it easy to apply on different surfaces with the right adhesive sizing. I use it on various projects.

Quality product
I use this product in art projects. I use wax paper to lift the leaf for placement. Those instructions are from years back and I didn't find them mentioned in the product anymore. Too bad because it's the best way I've found to use and apply silver and gold leaf to a surface.

I love gold! Mmm, shimmery gorgeous gold!
I've not got much to compare to in the way of gold leaf brands or methods, but from the few things I've learnt, the process is a lot trickier (and messier) than I thought but, it definitely yeilds such pretty results! You get 25 sheets with this pack which unless you're covering furniture (and in that case - good luck to you!), it's plenty. My favorite easy way to put it to use is to paint a canvas with just a few of your favorite shades in long, vertical flowing lines, all slightly blended into each other and then take a few torn strips of the gold leaf and place them along the striations in the paint (all while still damp). Either that, or use a stencil and some glue on a sponge pouncer sparingly. Remove the stencil and then gently apply a single sheet of gold leaf. Don't use your fingers to press it down because it will tear - use a soft, dry paintbrush instead. Once it's all dry, buff the excess gold leaf away and you'll be left with a pretty filigree design or a gold love heart you can frame. make a simple canvas painting with striatum so far a few of your favorite colors and then lightly tap a few torn strips on top. The way the light catches it is beautiful. If you're looking to cover a specific object in mind, arm yourself with patience - I started an antique chair in silver leaf... Never again. Best for small artsy projects, I think. By the way, you really don't need the sizing. A thin glue or even paint is fine to use, just mKe sure it's tacky when you apply and completely dry when your burnish the flakes away.

Need the adhesive
I researched gold leaf before buying this and found many reviews saying that the Mona Lisa brand was the best. It arrived undamaged (surprisingly). The gold leaf is very fine and somewhat tricky to master. I used Mod Podge as an adhesive because I wasn't aware that there was a specific adhesive for the product. The gold didn't stick to the Mod Podge I applied and just brushed off. Bought the small jar of adhesive size by Mona Lisa and it worked perfectly. I'm using the gold leaf on heavy watercolor paper and it adheres well. It is tricker to get a clean adhesion depending on the type of paper I am using. Had to apply 3 thin coats of the size in order to get it to become tacky. Adds a nice touch to my watercolor/linocut prints.

IMITATION GOLD IN BOOKLET
(1) COMPOSITION OF GOLD LEAF (i.e., IMITATION GOLD): Composition gold leaf is 86% copper and 15% zinc. The package says its comparable in brilliance to 23 KT gold. The gold composition leaf (unlike pure gold) is an alloy, which means that it must be sealed to prevent oxidizing from long air exposure. Because this is imitation gold foil, it is significantly cheaper than genuine gold foil (Compare $50 to $10). Thus, this product is perfect for someone interested in non-professional arts-and-crafts.(2) VERY THIN SHEETS: The foil sheets are extremely thin, which makes the foil stick to adhesive with easy.(3) BOOKLET: The gold foil is contained in a small booklet measuring 5.5 x. 5.5 inches. There are 25 gold leaf pages in the booklet. Each gold leaf page had a coversheet. The coversheet is very helpful because the gold sticks to it. When you are applying the foil, you can hold the coversheet and press the gold onto the adhesive. This allows you to prevent the gold from breaking up in your fingers as you try to apply it.OVERALL: While this product may not be for the professional artist because it's imitation gold foil, it is perfect for the average arts-and-crafts lover! The booklet makes the foil easy to apply and store.[If you are looking for a great adhesive to use with this foil, I would recommend the Silhouette double-sided adhesive sheets.]

Used for crafts- but great products and exactly what I was looking for! Make sure you have a brush to help apply.

Beautiful Metallic Gold effects, Easy to use
This metal leaf product is not gold (just FYI) but looks and feels just like gold leaf. The amount is very generous for the price. each "leaf" measures 5 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches. The package contains 25 leaves. As an artist, working on delicate artwork, I suggest that you work with this product in a trial or test piece first. I use the gold leaf with Krylon Easy Tack to form a durable adhesive bond to the surface. Speedball offers a paint-on glue. I preferred the spray- just personal preference. Either way this is a beautiful and durable artistic element. Highly recommend!

The best gold leaf!
I have used this gold leaf for multiple art projects and it is very easy to handle, adheres properly to most surfaces, and has a beautiful gold finish. Make sure to order the adhesive size and sealer to protect the gold leaf from damaging.
