Where can I look up directions on how to use and operate this compass/sundial?

Do you know which is the North Star ? The axis of the sundial points at the North Star. Note that Sundial time is not the same as standard time or daylight savings time for your location so it seems to be always wrong. The sundial twelve number should be shadowed by the gnommon at local solar noon - (when the sun is due South of your location)... Before railroads and standard time, everyone used local solar time - long days in summer , short ones in winter... Do you know how a magnetic compass works (if it is working the arrow points at the magnetic north pole of Earth ) if it has been demagnetized it points somewhere else - Magnetic North is not the same as True North - and you should know the Earth's magnetic pole is moving from Canada toward Siberia...

Why didnt it come with a box...can you send that like it was described and advertised.

There are two variations. One with a box and one without. Depending on the one you purchased or they could have sent the wrong one.
