Q: If i connect this though the optical output from the tv (to a optical/digital converter), can i still somewhat control the volume through tv remote?

This device has no optical input. If you have a Bluetooth or lineout connection, yes, you can still control the input volume seperately.

Q: I have two old rca speakers i’m trying to hook it up to. how do i do this? they have male connections. do i take the male pieces off and use the wires

Yes. The center conductor of the speaker wire is the red, positive connection. the other connection is black, or ground.

It can be used as a speaker amp and USB DAC. There is a USB port and you can connect your PC with it via USB cable.

no voice capabilities. nice little amp needs to be unplugged though.
