There are many, many 30A options when it comes to powering your RV in a RV campground slip. It appears to be general consensus that you should take some specific action to protect your RV investment from power problems with your campground connection. Depending on your RV and inside accessories, over voltage, under voltage, off frequency, and surges can all rweak havoc on your RV, especially if you have any sensitive electronics. Your experience may vary, but this was a very cost effective purchase to help me protect my RV & it's electronics. I have about 20 over night stays using this device and so far no problems.

Literally plug and go. Indicator lights confirm the power configuration. No means to attach a lock, hence the 4 rating. We have not had any surges so too early to tell how well it protects.

We normally use a 50 Amp power surge protector for our 5th Wheel travel days. This 30 Amp Surge Protector is used at 30 Amp only sites, and when the 50 Amp side has problems. This protector has warned us of a missing ground, under voltage, and just plain bad wiring. Thus saving the RV from potential electrical problems. The only problem with this product is the ease of it slipping out of the pedestal connection. Thus precautions are taken to secure the surge protector to the pedestal. Is it waterproof? I never take a chance to find-out. A waterproof cover is always draped, and secured over the unit. I would buy this product again.

Seemed to work great for my 30 Amp camper. I do not have proof that surge protection works but so far it stayed alive for about two months being plugged in. I like to know if the polarity is right. I will not ever plug in without knowing the power post is hooked up correctly.

I purchased this product and received it the day before departing home for a RV trip. Later that same day I used it the first time. It indicated that the electric source at our RV campground had reverse polarity, potentially very dangerous. I was skeptical, the surge protector being brand new and I was using it the first time, my first thought was, "This thing is screwed up." I checked two other nearby campsites. The surge protector gave me two good green lights indicating they were safe. I changed spaces and reported the reverse polarity to the registration office. A day later someone came to check out the negative condition I had reported and, indeed found that the polarity was reversed. Several times over the next few days I was outside after dark observing the surge protectors constantly glowing green lights feeling happy with my purchase. I now hope it works as it is supposed to work for at least a couple of years.

Funny this is one of those things that you don’t know if it works unless it was to fail. That said no issues after repeated use.
