The one piece drainage bag is both economical and reliable. I have had an ostomy 10 years. I ran into trouble when I was unable to get this product from an in town vendor. I did business with an online dealer. It would take one to two weeks to get this item. I was surprised to see it on Amazon. Since I am a prime member and this a prime item I ordered it. It is more reasonably priced. Early on when I was unable to obtain the one piece, I switched to the two piece, with the wafer and snap on bags. It was more expensive with the two items. I found that the two piece was not airtight. I would detect an odor when flatus was passed. This is not the case with the one piece. It is airtight. When I would bend over I could feel the edges of the wafer push into my side. Not the case with the one piece. I can move and bend without any feeling of discomfort. I have showered and in hot tub without any problems. The bag remains intact. I lke this product and would not change. Emptying the bag is easy and less expensive than throwing the bag away in the two piece. This drainage bag works for me. I worked 10 years with this product and never had any issues. I am now retired and it still fit in my lifestyle.

To Whom It May Concern: Hi all! I would like to begin by saying, I've had what was supposed to be a six to eight week, temporary ileostomy for over twenty years now. During that time period, I've trued a number of ostomy products from various companies. I have ALWAYS come back to the Convatec Active Life brand. While it looses one star because of a small problem, it's something you can live with. That issue is the clip the holds closed the drainage opening. I have worn my bag sideways for ease of emptying for many years. It was a trick I learned during a stay in ICU once that I highly recommend over the more common straight down the leg method. The problem is that the hard, slightly rounded clip will dig into you if it gets under you at night. This is primarily an issue for side sleepers. Of all the brands I've tried, the adhesive backing is the best I've come across. I have tried multiple add on adhesive products and usually have a terrible reaction, so I'm forced to merely rely on the barrier's adhesive exclusively. Even with this disclaimer, I've had a single bag remain in place for a week or more before changing. I'm told this is unusual, however I don't know if that's true or not. I just know how things work for me. I'd also like to point out that it's very important who you acquire your ostomy bags from. As you can imagine, during the plus twenty years I've been forced to wear these products, I've gotten them from multiple sources. Having recently moved unexpectedly to a new city, I haven't found a delivery source that takes my insurance yet. That's when I discovered how much cheaper they were on Amazon. Price isn't the biggest issue, however, when talking about careful retailer selection. It's due to the way these products are stored before shipment to the customer. The last home delivery service I used changed warehouses about halfway through my time doing business with them. I didn't learn this until I started to have issues with bags quickly turning loose, usually in the middle of the night while I'm asleep. You can surely imagine what kind of nightmare this became. It turned out that the way they were being stored was doing actual damage to the adhesive quality of ALL their products. I had even tried another brand only to have the same issue. I've had no such issue since ordering from Amazon. In summary, this is an excellent product and very dependable. The length is far better than every self-closing model I've tried. This makes the clip issue easier to live with. As I sleep on my side, I just need to be careful not to doze off with the clip under my hip. If, like me, you sometimes have trouble getting around, the additional storage length means fewer trips to the bathroom. Expensive is the only complaint. Never had one to fail. You can trust these. Just take care of your skin. It won't matter how good the bag is if you don't keep every thing clean. I have to change once a day and need the large bag size. I don't drain the pouch as it's a nasty mess. Fill up and dump. No clippers one time bags are too small. Medicare picks up 20 a months and I have to purchase the other 10. Great quality but may soon need a bank loan. LOL Addendum: you can get these at Save Right Medical online for $37 a box. The prices on Amazon for these are close to robbery!
