Don't listen to these negative reviews...
Don't listen to these negative reviews, they seriously don't know what they're talking about. Currently, half of them misread the DLC package and didn't get what they THOUGHT they were going to get (their own fault) and the other half are under the impression that you have to buy the collection for $60 even if you already have day 1+expansions. You don't. You can just buy the Rise of Iron DLC on its own for 29.99 USD if that's the case. Now let's start talking about the game itself. It's a PHENOMENAL deal. You get Original Destiny + expansions 1 & 2 + the Taken King DLC + the Rise of Iron DLC. That's over $200 in content for only $60. It's a great way to get new people in the game. The new DLC content has so far been "meh" at best. That's talking about the Rise of Iron alone, and not the Destiny: the collection in its entirety. The rise of Iron missions are pretty much rehashed versions of old, year 1 missions. They do however make up for it with an entirely new playable patrol area as well as a new "tower". They will also be including a new Raid mission, so we'll have to wait and see how that is. The Taken King content, however is absolutely phenomenal. A bunch of new stuff was added during that DLC, and it's all included here. For new players, you'll get a level 25 boost from the Taken King as well as a level 40 boost from the Rise of Iron. That means you can level up 2 separate characters, so you're not left behind by others who have been maxed out for a while.All-in-all the Collection is a GREAT deal and a GREAT game. I would highly recommend getting the Collection of you are new to Destiny and want to start getting into it. 5/5.

Very good game, pay no attention to my quibbles if you're buying.
A very enjoyable post-apocalyptic renaissance story, with good character and avatar development, rich environments to explore, and a cooperative multiplayer community.I don't know if the creators ever read these reviews, but here is some feedback for them:1. The timeline is too long to be believable based on what I see in the environment. If things happened thousands of years in the past, there's no way the ruins would be so well-preserved.2. Releasing all three chapters in one collection jumbles the timeline. I imagine when you released each one separately, different opponents started to appear in the world. But now, with all four factions around, it feels jumbled. Overheard quips and quotes don't make sense (eg. in the Reef, Petra told my avatar that the Queen was gone. I still don't know what that means. She was there the last time I stopped by... so I figure it is part of the storyline I haven't gotten to yet). I would have preferred to play the game as if each chapter unfolded at the right time. I'm mostly soloing, so it would have been ok to make this linear time line a single player mode.3. I like the light orbs cooperative mechanic. It is interesting to create a valuable resource I can't collect, let alone see. And when someone else makes some, I have the urge to create some too, to pay them back.

Good game at launch, now great with all of the DLCs and improvements
Purchased as a gift for my younger brother, who only had the original game and year 1 DLCs (Dark Below and House of Wolves). I am an avid player of Destiny since the beta and have always enjoyed the gameplay mechanics and Bungie has continued to improve on the story elements and world-building for the Destiny universe, albeit through paid DLC. My brother had wanted to jump back in and this collection was the most effective option, giving him access to the last 2 DLCs (Taken King and Rise of Iron) while including a few goodies to boost his characters. With the loot system very much improved compared to year one, he found the progression while finishing up the campaign so much quicker and more rewarding .He had never completed the original story, as he preferred more casual activities like patrol and the occasional PvP match - now that he has renewed interest, we have been playing through campaign missions together (I always completed them solo) and I find myself really enjoying going back through some of the older missions. I should point out that I stopped doing most of the weekly/daily activities a long time ago as I had acquired all of the weapons and armor (actually, can't physically collect anymore due to full inventory on 3 characters and full vault), so the repetition of these older story missions doesn't really bother me now.

Destiny 1 Collection
You can get the game and every expansion! The only problem is where to go? It's completely open, so use youtube walkthroughs to guide you through the game. Everything seems to be customizable, which is a feature I think everyone likes. The story is minimal, but I think most people love the multiplayer action.

Come a long way
I remember first playing this early on while on the xbox 360, and man was I disappointed. That all has changed with it's added content and adjustments. Now, I'm on regularly with friends doing raids and crucibles. Glad to have it now. Of course, I will tell anyone reading this that if you are going to buy Destiny, whether for your own enjoyment or for someone else's, I suggest that you buy this edition. Games these days have unfortunately been releasing with a lack of content, and a season pass that will offer you what the complete game should have offered. It's more, but worth the price with it's many hours of enjoyment, and many more if you have friends to play it with.

So glad I gave it a second chance.
I bought Destiny for the PS3 early last year , created a character and played maybe 10 minutes. I didn't go back, maybe FPS burnout, I don't know. Then I bought a Xbox One in September ( even though I've been with Sony since the first PS1 ) and Destiny happened to be an Amazon Goldbox deal during the holidays. I took a chance on it and am I so glad I did. I made sure I had time and no interruptions when I started a new character and found a very deep story that was intriguing and fresh. I was hooked after my first few battles. The AI in the is game is no joke either. Anyway I now look forward to more time playing and glad I gave it a second chance.

Makes the game better
I recommend this for anyone that likes first person shooters. With the expansion packs, add a more hours of game play. Definitely worth the price as you will not be able to activate the expansions with a used copy (the expansion codes only work once).
