Happy to Have Discoved This.
I would actually rate it 4.7 if you could do partial stars. That's mainly because of a few reasons: 1) It does run a bit darker than expected 2) It'd be great if it was Ammonia free but still this effective 3) It's a long wait for gray coverage. However, nothing man-made is ever perfect. I LOVE that they don't do animal testing. This is the best gray coverage I've ever experienced. It's fairly natural looking color, for the natural color options, with dimensions and shine. My hair has seemed much healthier since I've been using this product compared to years of other hair coloring products. While it does have the common hair color odor during application, it's not as intense as other products. By using the same few colors that blend well, a tube lasts a while since I can simply touch up the roots and or lighten up or darken slightly according to the seasons. Because it does run dark and my skin tone is not forgiving with many shades, I play around with mixing lighter shades with the darker end of my preferred range to get somewhere in-between which works for me. I recommend doing similar if you find that it runs darker than expected. Sometimes going a full shade higher is can be light.

Easy to use and great results
I'm an older woman, but I like to play with my hair. A friend recommended trying this brand, because it was formulated for curly hair. So I gave it a try.First, not hard to mix, but you need to understand this is not your regular boxed hair color. You will need developer, and a plastic or silicon bowl and plastic or silicon whisk to mix. You should never use metal because it causes a chemical reaction and the color you expected won't be what you get.The color I selected is Twisted Plum, because my hair is dark brown with lots of grey. I didn't have to bleach before trying this color. So with towels covering my counter and sink, I used my gloved hands to glop it on and then worked it through. Be sure to protect your ears, and use a damp rag to get the color that is on your skin.Based on past usage I gave this 20 minutes to cook, then rinsed it out following the directions on the box.The color turned out just as expected! The grey was completely colored, and is much brighter than the brown. That's what I expected, and it has lasted several weeks so far.Be warned, you should put an old t-shirt on your pillow for the first week. There is a transfer until hair washing gets it all. There are plenty of fun and normal colors offered in this line. Keep in mind that the bottle of 4 oz developer is for two applications. And one tube of color is only one application.

Age Beautiful is the real deal!
I used the Age Beautiful color on my 4C natural hair. I was apprehensive about dryness or damage, but I used the product as instructed, followed with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and the color covered all of my grays. Two weeks in and my hair looks and feels soft, full and healthy. I am loving the richness of the color too!! This product lives up to all of the advertised claims. I’m definitely going to reorder and use this product in the future.

Actually Covers All Stubborn Gray, Doesn’t Pull Red!
I mixed 6A and 5NN together, hoping for the sweet spot of completely cool undertones and full gray coverage, and it achieved both! No previous box/kit has been able to do this, and I’ve been exhausted by “cool” and “ash” brunette colors that inexplicably pull red and/or leave grays unpigmented. While this combo did come out darker than my ideal light-medium ultra cool ash brown, I had anticipated as much (per the product notes), and next time will experiment with the just #6 browns. My hair is very long (2 inches below my waist) so I used both full tubes and 4oz of the branded 20v developer. I processed for 45 mins on 2nd day clean hair with no post-shampoo/conditioner product. Definitely don’t use this on a freshly cleaned scalp or you’ll get itchy/stingy as this is an ammonia based product. The ammonia vapors are very strong at first, so be prepared—it’s not a lightweight DIY color. (Natural/ammonia free dyes have failed to cover my grays no matter the brand or formula.)I will say that despite the formulation, I didn’t find it to be conditioning, which I mention for anyone who factors that in. HOWEVER, it’s a non-factor for me; I have numerous beloved conditioning products to do that job. All I want out of hair color is total gray coverage and true-tone pigment payoff, and this delivers both in spades.I’m glad I finally found a product that does what I need, and will be exclusively using this brand from now on.
